Arkajo is back on his own label with two originals and two remixes by kindred spirits, Polygonia and Konduku. Starting with the warm Entwine, stepped-out beats laced with swirly stabs. Polygonia's finishes off the A-side with an organic and atmospheric rework; saturated in deep, trippy, rattling tonally percussive flows.
Arkajo's Signature leads the B-side: broken drum patterns with whispers from the realm between where Sweden and the UK meet. Konduku settles the score with his dark and eerie 4x4 techno take. A diverse record to keep in the bag for both hazy basements and the upcoming summer season.

@moon_j_dj : Je ne suis pas intéressé par la linéarité, par les choses attendues, les choses convenues ; au contraire je chéris l'incongruité, les accidents et les chavirements.

"Something went wrong" est une expression utilisée en informatique pour signifier qu’il s’est produit une chose qui n’était pas censé se produire, que les événements ne sont pas déroulés comme prévus. 

On se retrouve alors face à une page blanche, un espace de latence, vierge, propice au surgissement de nouvelles énergies créatrices.

C'est cette idée qui est à l'origine de cette série de podcasts : l'envie de raconter des histoires soniques singulières, aux paysages escarpés et aux chemins sinueux.

Blush aims to help soothe the queer spectrum and focus on the well-being of the community. Queer DJs are invited to submit a mix to showcase an alternative side to their music library outside of a rave and take us on a meditative journey. ✨

Notes on the mix:

"Slowing down like this was more of a challenge than I had thought & more enjoyable than expected. It took a while to really sit on what sounds felt therapeutic to me, ones that weren't quite geared towards a high energy dancefloor. I knew I was into some ambient dreamy-esque soundscapes, those which had developed alongside the harder trance sound, but putting together this mix I realised just how much comfort I find in the grungier, more downtempo electro and psychedelic sounds. While putting together tracks I heard of Liana Padilha’s unfortunate passing, the lead singer & poet of Noporn. An amazing Brazilian electro/spoken word duo I had been lucky enough to see perform at Whole Festival last year, I have a couple of tracks from them in here as a minor ode to their work, one of my favourite sounds I had come across in the past few years."

Dublin based DJ and visual artist Bull Horris has been a consistent presence in the local and international scene over the past few years. Tender co-founder and resident for Strawberries, their love of the dancefloor and the cathartic moments it can bring translates into the music that can be heard throughout each set. Charging rhythms laced with sometimes political, oftentimes camp vocals, chord progressions that reminisce on that distinctly Euro sound, and a consistent heavy kick are the driving forces behind the sounds that Bull Horris loves to hear and play out.

In this program I bring music from artists from Brazil and other countries whose work I follow and I really like. The selection also features a new sound of my project Flores Feias, which has not yet been released and will appear on my next album. As a selector I like to bring some narratives, so I hope you enjoy this auditory vision.

Notes on the mix:

"This might be my most personal ambient mix to date. My mind always tries to find rhythms in my surroundings: the humming of a car in the street, the shuffling of my pants when I walk. This mix revolves around rhythm, with most tracks soothing, some discomforting. From Terre Taemlitz's discordant piano to Niagara's bursts of aggressive rhythms, moments of chaos evoke my own internal struggles. Living as a minority vulnerable to attacks, entering any space with care and wearing a strong façade in the streets means I'm always on edge, even in my happiest moments."

Feroui plays deeply personal music in Marseille and Paris. In his warm hours, melodies are twisted like his fantasies, the bass growls like his desire, and percussions kindle bodies burning in ecstasy. In his dark hours, a chaos of chopped up voices and hallucinating synthesizers haunts broken rhythms piercing through a thick fog.
