Instrumental version of Hit crossover song by Mary Mary, entitled, "Shackles (Praise You). The song was recorded as Gospel, but It was a top 10 R&B and top 40 pop hit and peaked at number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. I was sold on it when I heard a sister (can't name her) sing it in Church where I play guitar. My wife and I had fun recording it in my small studio. My good friend Archie Bell heard it and said "put it out there". I love the song. IT HAS MANY MEANINGS TO MANY PEOPLE!

Instrumental (guitar) cover of a wonderful uplifting song by Brother Timothy Wright. I love this song, as well as the message it carries. I often think, where would we be without hope, without tomorrows. I do not think anyone could make this song better, but I did the best I could to give it the respect it deserves.

Market street located in Houston's 5th Ward area, was a regular hangout for the Drells when we attended Phillis Wheatley HS. The "Bean House" was one of our favorite spots. We use to set there at lunch time eating pinto beans and singing "under the board walk" ha ha ha...then try to make it back to campus with out being caught by Mr. Cook!

This is a instrumental cover of a great song by a wonderful vocalist and person, Mr. Clyde Anthony G. Mr. Anthony is a former member of Archie Bell and the Drells. I met Clyde many years ago while we both were in HS. I love this song, but realizing I don't have Mr. G's vocal range, I decided to cover this beautiful song via my guitar.  I certainly hope you like it...hats off to my friend Clyde for a lovely song...one of many!

This is a cover of a great song by Johnny Bristol. I love Mr. Bristol's delivery of all his songs; he was a great vocalist, writer and promoter. This guy was a credit to Motown and all the talented individuals he touched. God bless you Johnny!

This is a cover of a song by my boyz, Archie. Bell and the Drells. Show me how to dance was the title. I left Houston many years ago playing guitar with the boyz. I always admired the musicians at Philly international they were mentors to me, and so original. I did not play guitar on the original track but it is one that I love, so Archie and I talked about me covering it for years. Finally got around to doing an instrumental version of it a few years ago but lost the recording while moving, I just found the track recently. I love the song and it was so fun rocking with it while recording. So, here we go, me and my guitar...Sho me Sho me How...ha ha...

This song was originally song by Bobby Helms, many years ago. I loved this song as a young child, and it has special meaning to me. It was written and sang so beautifully, I decided to record it. I can not sing like Bobby, but I can play this guitar. Originally, it was tagged as a country song, but it was so touching and meaningful, it made it's way over to the rock charts. You are my Special Angel is a beautiful song...I love it, I hope you enjoy it as well.

Clennis was born and raised in Houston's 5th Ward. Clennis Met a young guy, called "little brother", Archie Lee Bell is real name. Archie had put some guys together, he called "Drells", and asked Clennis to play guitar. He did, and the group produced a Million selling song called "Tighten Up". There were other top selling cuts as well.

After traveling the world with "Archie Bell and the Drells" Clennis came back home to play a little music with Joe Tex. Later he recorded several songs that fared well in Australia, and is still working with Archie Bell doing Gospel music, and an occasional "smooth jazz" cut on guitar...still plays a smooth guitar.
