CLOSERcast proudly presents Temudo, a standout figure in contemporary Techno, premiering his brand new live set, recorded at Disorder @ Liquid Club (October 2024), exclusively on our platform!

Known for blending the soul of Techno with a modern, unorthodox approach, Temudo's music is characterised by gritty, futuristic sounds, with a signature motif resembling a rusty crank pounding into a brick wall. In 2023, Temudo embarked on a new journey into live performance, delivering spontaneous sets that challenge traditional expectations. Each live set is a unique, improvised act where he pushes the boundaries of Ableton to its sonic limits. 

"The main idea is that the music of that recording didn’t exist before the performance itself. It was all created on the flow, one idea after the other, through the control of sequencers, Lfos, arpeggiators and other complex midi processing, as well as virtual synthesizers and sound processors. I would have an idea playing for the audience, and would prepare the next one (by pre listening on the headphones) and would eventually blend both."

Through a balance of vision and homage, Regent crafts a sound that fuses the raw edge of classic rhythms with the intrigue of fresh, untold narratives. From his Berlin roots, Regent carries a deep-seated appreciation for techno's past into his sound, offering a trip that is reflective while remaining ever seeking.

Behind the decks, Regent is known to traverse the wide spectrum of techno, from tripped-out depths to high-pressure ascents, always leveraging his extensive catalogue of unreleased material to craft unique moments and explorations for the audience. Starting to first host and perform at off-location parties around Berlin in his youth, Regent has since shared his vision across clubs and warehouses worldwide, drawing attention for sets that feel both tightly controlled and utterly untethered.

Championing a sound both rugged and trance-inducing, Porto-based Brazilian producer Marcal clocks in this week with two hours blending future-proof warehouse rave material and claustrophobic 4x4 maneuvers. Hot on the heels of his latest ’Nature of the Future’ EP on Donato Dozzy and Neel’s imprint Spazio Disponibile, Marcal takes us on a mind-bending ride down raucous sine-scapes and brooding, verbed-out atmospheres, constantly pushing the envelope of techno as can be experienced these days. Resuming its course as a means for transcending our (currently much gloomy) zeitgeist, techno here gets back on its revolution-friendly tracks, finding its second breath as a metamorphic tool for blazing new paths and routes towards a better, more intelligently designed world. There goes a mix that summons the very finest of Marcal’s boundary-pushing vision and killer knack for crafting memorable and emancipatory floor narratives. Brace yourselves.
