The group Imarhane Tombouctou from Timbuktu, Azawad, Northern Mali.  The group is: Mohamed Issa Ag Oumar lead vocal and guitar, Ousmane Ag Oumar rhythm guitar and chorus, Fadimata Walet Oumar hand drum and chorus, Zeinabou Walet hand drum and chorus.  On this recording Baba Traore on bass and Hama Sankare on calabash.  All the group are from the Timbuktu region of Mali but after the crisis there, the group members currently live in three places.  Mohamed Issa is living in a refugee camp in Mauritania with his family. Fadimata and Zeina are living in Burkina Fasso with their families. Ousmane moves between the two countries and Mali.  They are all brothers and sisters.  Baba lives in Bamako Mali and Hama lives in Niafunke Mali.  Baba and Hama sat in for these sessions while all the musicians were on tour in North America July 2013.  Recorded, mixed and mastered at Area 52 Studios in Saugerties New York by Dave Cook, this track is from the album "AKAL WARLED" produced by Chris Nolan of Clermont Music records and to be released in CD 18 March 2014 on vinyl 19 April 2014 through distributor Forced Exposure. This title refers to the issue of exile and its penalties. The song speaks of the suffering of the Tuareg, repeatedly refugees in Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso and Algeria, due to the cyclic armed conflict in their regions of northern Mali.
