"Making a welcome return to ICONYC is our favorite Greek maestro Ziger with 'Control'. Ziger who needs no introduction returns for his 4th outing on the label. He brings it together for an extraordinary release that shows a startling amount of potential.

To start us off Ziger drops the original version of 'Control'. A track full of rhythmic beeps and expansive synth stabs that create a driving rhythm before the atmospheric pads create a beautiful setting, which fires with all guns blazing to produce a club monster that growls. Combining the best of both worlds, Ziger has come up with something unique and distinctive to make this release extra special while applying an extra dose of groove and warmth to this incredible tune. 'Control' stands for a fool proof and state-of-the-art piece of music, which will readily make you, take note and amaze in equal measures. 

On remix duty we welcome French duo ABSTRAAL to the label for their debut. ABSTRAAL who know a thing or two when it comes to mind blowing reworks, turn their mix into an irresistible track using the original elements with perfection. They layer more melodies and effects, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed tech percussion and their trademark FX elements, without destroying the essence of the original. Their rework deserves to be branded 'essential' in any sense of the word.

Anis Hachemi & Alex Kaspersky link up for the epic new album Baths Of Antoninus on Dear Deer. Anis is a label regular, and Alex is the label head honcho, and they both come together here with a big techno sound that comes laced with melody.

Future Retro opens up with gritty bass and widescreen synths that wash over the groove and then Africa brings more afro tinged drums, Better Life is dark and edgy with a spraying synth line and Dogon Tribe then gets you in a trance with the lush chords. Rave in Sahara is hard-hitting and moody, with grainy chords and gritty textures, then tracks like African Rage and Future Acid show the range of this pair as they serve up more peak-time cuts with searing acid lines and bouncing drums. After the tense and adventurous Carthage with its gauzy chords, Decadence closes out with hands in the air.

Auggie gives '0.32' his own spin and turns it into an Innervisions-style, percussive and groovy track.
Enai's remix finishes off the release, reshaping '0.32' to fit his distinctive sound while still keeping the peak-time, modern melodic techno vibe.

Rose’s 11th EP on the label. Containing 3 techno tracks

The overall concept of this EP named “in times of disbelief” is inspired by the incredible changes in the world of the last months. People are fearful, governments are in crisis and the world has come to a stop, all these changes feel surreal and put many people in a state of distrust. The tracks are the base of these feelings and concepts. 

The first track named “Out of Sync” follows a strong arpeggiated mono synth line which goes in and out of sync constantly. The track follows a steady groove and gets opened in the big break down by an 8 chord progression leading into a big euphoric synth space. Then followed by a big unison polysynth which almost sounds like a guitar, playing an arp which is also changing in speed and synchronization. Then finally gets back to the main groove and follows this on steadily. 

The second track named: “What are you waiting for” is just like the first track along, emotive techno track which moves from a strong and powerful beat to emotive chord progressions. The overall slow buildup and repetitive melody make this something special, which could be lifting a room of dancers to a new level. A perfect closing set end track as Rose would call it. 

The Third track named “Lies” is somewhat slower on the energy and induces a darker feeling. The piano chords give the track rose’s signature. The track slowly builds to a climax where the synth line changes to some sort of Arabic tone ladder. The heavy low end of this track gives you that “oomph” feeling we all like so much in Techno.
