Two aspects of Maison Fauna’s world collide on this one, as Bristol’s K-65 energetically remixes Durham-based Chainletter’s “Lyric St.” Originally a techno exploration, K-65’s take is an urgent, pressing electro banger, complete with unexpected timbral rides, whirling sound effects, and teasing builds fit for any dance-floor. As a prolific producer delving into a wide variety of genres, including breaks, drum and bass, and electro, K-65 has begun to make waves as an eclectic, well-rounded producer in the UK underground. With prior releases on Top Drawer Digital, Slippery Sounds, CORE ltd., Belters mag, Seagrave, Taipan Trax, Maison Fauna, and Over and Out, K-65’s accolades are skyrocketing almost as quickly as his discography. We couldn’t be more stoked to have a track of his back on the buffet line. Eat your heart out!

2023 has been a great year for Bradley Hutchings aka Guava. Alongside many successful dance singles and remixes, his self-released debut album ‘Out Of Nowhere’ is a gorgeous blend of indie electronica that steps away from his typical club focussed productions. 2024, however, sees Guava move back towards the dancefloor with his latest EP Afterglow, which drops on Faux Poly on March 8th. Since rooting himself in Berlin, Guava has drawn inspiration from across the different facets of the city, something that is strongly reflected in this release.

The opening track ‘Angel’ is a dark trip, born out of experiments with reverb and guitar harmonics influenced by UK Bass and Dubstep, an ethereal techno track described by the artist as “guitar music for Berghain”. Next up is ‘140 Drums’, an essential DJ club tool, a chopped stuttering break and hoover bass roll through a restrained but surprisingly heavy hitting finale to the EP. 

‘F641’ accelerates with continuously pitching synth stabs and a rumbling low end. Inspired by F1, the track hits hard and never stops ramping up. Finally the title track ‘Afterglow’ brings a lightness and warmth to the release, delicately catchy and rooted with a bouncy house beat, the sound of Berlin in Guava’s productions is unmistakably clear.

The plane soared high over the cities below, occasional flashes of land could be seen dotted between the hazy fog and the morning clouds. They'd flown over Paris, Rome, Berlin and as they approached Anderlecht the temperature began to drop outside just a little bit more.

This was a smooth flight, the sort one would dream of. The sunlight of the early morning igniting the cabin and beaming into the cockpit.

They soared and weaved between the fluffy white orbs, firmly fixed on the destination onwards and ahead.

XL Regular does it again with a killer, bubbly EP released on Artisjok Records. Drawing upon influence from UK bass culture as well as the more traditional fringes of House music, this one is for all the shufflers and toe tappers. The sound of headphones in the foggy mist of a London morning. Big vibes.
