Rushing us headlong into a vorticist maelstrom of hard-edged drum stutter and polychromatic synth fragmentation, Sansibar sophomore long-player for Kalahari Oyster Cult - “Sans Musique” - tackles the very essence of post-trancey, breaks-loaded UK blends with unabashed joy to wreak havoc on his path. Throughout seven tracks oozing burnt kerosene and depleted uranium residue merged with a hint of sacred incense, Sansibar deploys his extra-wide vision for the present and future of dance music.

“Scully” attacks pedal to the metal, hi-intensity bass onslaughts and knee-buckling breaks roaring as the groove slings us at bullet-speed into a hot, narrow barrel of floor-focused aggression. 

Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, Sansibar is a non-pareil cosmic traveller - also producer, resident DJ at Kaiku and Post Bar and wave agitator on IDA Radio and EOS Radio - whose genre-unbound sound credentials for the likes of Kalahari Oyster Cult, Natural Sciences, Émotsiya, Darknet, Avoidance et al. have helped establish as one of today’s most intriguing talents in the European scene.

Two aspects of Maison Fauna’s world collide on this one, as Bristol’s K-65 energetically remixes Durham-based Chainletter’s “Lyric St.” Originally a techno exploration, K-65’s take is an urgent, pressing electro banger, complete with unexpected timbral rides, whirling sound effects, and teasing builds fit for any dance-floor. As a prolific producer delving into a wide variety of genres, including breaks, drum and bass, and electro, K-65 has begun to make waves as an eclectic, well-rounded producer in the UK underground. With prior releases on Top Drawer Digital, Slippery Sounds, CORE ltd., Belters mag, Seagrave, Taipan Trax, Maison Fauna, and Over and Out, K-65’s accolades are skyrocketing almost as quickly as his discography. Aloka - Typo - [OUT NOW]

Title track from 'Laser Dome' EP released on @ritualpoison records on October 19th.

Taking their name from the neighbouring family of galaxies that contains the Milky Way, London duo Local Group may sound parochial but unleash cosmic scale energies on their debut 12”.

Inspired by their sets at UK festival Field Maneuvers, the 'dirty little rave' that the duo are residents at (playing alongside the likes of Mark Archer and Storm), title track 'Laser Dome' distills their unashamed love of hardcore's E fuelled rush into a haze of piano euphoria. Underground electro hero Dexorcist remixes it for the 140bpm crew, a rude bouncing bassline and hyper breakbeats keeping its continuum credentials in check.

On the flip 'Random Utterances' nods to the slower, darker, proggier breakbeat favoured by Tyrant at the start of the new millennium, bubbling acid bass, arpeggios, moody strings and '80s synth pop combining with interludes of lucid drug philosophising and distorted 808 bass. 'Rampage' signs off with a potent dose of pure jump up energy, a 150bpm Reese bassline tear out, complete with MC hype, drawing on the pair's love of jungle.

There’d been a change in the atmosphere, you could feel it in the air without even drawing the curtains. Thunderous storms had torn through the forest, ravaging the trees and forcing all inhabiting creatures back into their hiding places. The rain had since cleared, but the winds remained until sunrise, wreaking havoc under the veil of darkness.

214 has built a reputation for his finely crafted electro, notching up releases for labels like CPU, Shipwrec, Frustrated Funk and Cultivated Electronics over the last decade. Now he gears up for the release of his third studio album Exposure to Winds, which sees him draw from his experiences living in the remote town of North Bend, the setting for David Lynch's Twin Peaks. The 8-track LP, underpinned by 214's relationship with nature and his isolated way of living, takes influence from the roots of electro channeled through his natural surroundings, which results in a timeless collection of electronic music.
