This is the story about TNT and how it came to be.
Now sit right there and I’ll tell you how not to explode with a great big POW!

TNT was created by the chemist Wilbrand in 1863 in a little country named Germany. 
But it took 30 years before it was discovered- it’s an explosive (Run for cover!).
The 4 atoms in TNT are non-metals like you and me.  This kind of bonding is called covalent; it is a bond between 2 non-metals. In covalent bonding the electrons are shared so they do not have to settle.
So the atoms that form to make TNT are a chemical explosive of enormity.
It’s made of the compound c7h5306, which can blow up a lot of bricks.
This compound is used for explosives in military shells, bombs, and grenades; and in industrial and underwater applications in every industrial nation.
If you want to win wars and blow up things, it’s important that you have TNT.  
TNT is not sold to average Joes like us, it was made by the military to protect us.
TNT has been here for a hundred years, and the sound it makes will really hurt your ears.
Detonating TNT can harm our environment, so military and companies must clean up after using TNT.
