Drowning is a song meant to capture the moment when the brain shifts into a depressive episode.

The inspiration comes from my own struggles with depression. Some days are really easy. some days depression is really heavy.

But my least favourite days are the ones where I can feel the shift into depression. When the mood starts to drop, and I can feel the fatigue start.

The anticipation of the valley is arguably worse than the valley itself.
