A regular contributor to the finest dance music imprints of the underground scene, Simos Tagias makes a welcome debut on Meanwhile with his 'Euphoria' EP.

Bursting onto the scene in late 2012 and early 2013 with a clutch of releases on Modu and Lynx Records, Simos Tagias has overseen a career path with a steady upwards trajectory that has since seen some 400 production credits to his name. Indeed, Clubsonica Records, Mango Alley and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music have all played regular host to the Greek artist’s work, not to mention successful releases on Cid Inc.’s Replug and Aly & Fila’s hugely successful FSOE.

Now opening his account on GMJ & Matter’s ever-growing Meanwhile, 'Euphoria' immediately impresses as a collage of elements fly across the sonic spectrum while a clicking ambient effect and grooved percussion provide dance floor character. Building in effervescent fashion, reversed synth motifs vie with delicately delayed phrases as a plethora of spot effects swim enticingly around the listener’s head. Winding up after a dizzying breakdown, the third movement carefully combines all the elements introduced in the earlier stages through a mind-melting melange of frequencies that pitches and falls in an innovative wall of sound Phil Spector would be proud of.

'Emotion' is a high-octane offering powering forward with chest-thumping kick and immaculately syncopated percussive groove. White noise infused synth motifs soon fill the sonic spectrum as a rapid-fire 16th note bassline carries the melodic elements with ease. Full of emotion and beautifully flowing synth lines, the track reaches its musical zenith at the breakdown before hitting its stride in the second half where all elements converge in lay lines of raw power and emotion.

"  An artist with a growing reputation within the underground dance fraternity, Sebastian Sellares makes his Meanwhile debut with his "Dunes at Dawn" EP.

After a 2018 debut for PHW Elements, Sebastian Sellares has made increasingly sizeable waves with his smooth and unique musical style. Already seeing his music signed to an array of high-profile imprints including onedotsixtwo, UV and Or Two Strangers, Proton Music's "Zen State / Jinsei" was a further notable highlight in October 2020 including remixes from Matias Chilano and Bedrock's Nick Muir.

The title-track opener is a gloriously atmospheric offering that builds gently over a rhythmic foundation of rolling top-line groove and pounding beat. Filtered pads soon enter the fray followed by atmospheric birdsong effects and rippling arpeggiated synth line that resonate with the "Dunes at Dawn" title. Rising to a spine-tingling zenith at the mid-point alongside deep, captivating bassline, the second half continues the rich melodic collage creating a sumptuous start to the EP.

Continuing the powerful rhythmic basis of the opener, "The Stars Above" scintillates with its chugging rhythmic vibe and syncopated bassline pattern. Evolving through subtle percussive urgency, dreamlike pads float across the mid-range beside steam-powered white noise waves, before intricately programmed synth plucks complete the foundations. Before long, undulating arpeggios glitter in delayed patterns as counterpoint phrasing adds emotion and guile to create a contemplative offering.

"Nocturne" completes the musical triptych, revelling in a subtle melodic hypnotism that blends acid-tinged loop with flowing analogue motifs. Panning the stereo spectrum with plucked phrases, a magnificent combination of counterpoint melodies rise and fall across a nine-minute magnum opus that results in another string to Sellares' increasingly powerful bow.

Esphyr - Voiny Svitla (The Element MT Remix) [TRANSPECTA]

Hernan Cattaneo returns home with his studio partners Soundexile. However the boys have let some of their best friends and favourite remixers do the hard work this time, as two of the labels previous monsters have been reworked for 2014. 
Starting with Altair, a track directly coming from the last Cattaneo’s Masters Series CD, and its Hernan´s fav Guy J on remix duties. His trademark infectious vibe is injected here, with his magical spell cast over this mysterious soundscape with warm layers of sounds interlocking as the journey develops. This is both deep and melancholic, yet uplifting and epic, showcasing Guy's golden studio productions to the max! 
The second remix is of Infoxication and again in we went to Israel with two label favourites teaming up as Guy Mantzur and Lonya collaborate. This enigmatic reworking is a deep yet sprightly encapsulating voyage with its feet firmly on the dance floor, while its tonality and effects circulate around its cavernous grotto of sound.

Lowbit is excited to welcome another fresh new artist to the roster, Atóm, and his stunning EP "Chimera"; The EP starts with the eponymous "Chimera" just like the mythological beast it is named after, it has several sides to it. Starting deep and building up to a fiery crescendo, only to turn into a lush and vibrant breakdown and back into a epic peak-time dance floor track.

The second track "Sphinx" has a darker vibe, keeping it a bit more stripped back focusing on individual elements, pushing melodies back and forth in the soundscape. With clever sound design and modulation, the track pushes things forward underpinned by a minimal but groovy drums.

Perspectives Digital is excited to announce the 50th release featuring a collaboration between label boss Darin Epsilon and prolific producer Cid Inc from Finland.  The two highly respected artists have collaborated on a multitude of universally praised projects, including their ‘Outliers’ release in 2015, which launched the label’s first Beatport Play remix contest.

More recently, the duo achieved monumental success with their remix of ‘Auralphase’ by Robert Babicz, which charted in Beatport’s Top 100 Techno Tracks for 50 consecutive days!  On the brink of their next DJ tour spanning from Canada to South America, they team up once again to bring us ‘Resistencia’ & ‘Myndie’ for this milestone release.

The first track ‘Resistencia’ was inspired from Darin and Cid’s performances in northeast Argentina. This track evokes the vibrancy and love from the city it was named after. ’Resistencia’ is an uplifting journey that takes flight with warm and lush pads weaving into radiant chord progressions.

On the flip side is ‘Myndie’, a name which stuck with Cid Inc after his performance at the Rainbow Serpent festival earlier this year.  In Aboriginal Australian culture, the mythological rainbow serpent is considered to be either the giver of life or cause of great destruction, and is one of the oldest continuing religious beliefs in the world.  Creating a rumbling energy and nefarious vibe with its hard kick, shuffling highs, and mechanical sounds, the track will surely be a formidable force on the dancefloor.

Beginning 2018 by remixing two of the industry's most revered talents in Nick Warren and Jerome Isma-Ae, Cid Inc now presents his first original project of the year. 'Abyss' is the hugely anticipated follow-up to the Finnish artist's chart topping progressive anthem 'Shifter'. A staple in the sets of Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren all throughout 2017, it sat comfortably as one of the genre's best by year's end.

From stripped, punchy beginnings 'Abyss' retains the progressive techno ethos Cid Inc. was instrumental in creating almost a decade ago. Encased in a crisp rhythmic shell, warm bass swells and machine gun cadence drive the foundation. The storyboard evolves with delicate melodic lines and impassioned overlays, eventually melting down into a euphoric break. As the melodies blossom an intensely emotive crescendo is reached as a soulful wail summons a powerful final act.

The companion piece 'From Within' finds Cid Inc. exploring dreamier textures and wistful sonic tapestries. Binding rhythmic flow with distinctive stabs and hypnotic arps makes for a sleek, meditative first act. A perfect prelude of sorts, as tasteful chord
changes summon melancholic motifs and hopeful pads, building subtly as a smooth rush embodies warmth towards a purring finale.

Sitting comfortably in the present, 'Abyss' maintains that timeless flair which embodies Cid Inc's work. Two striking tracks for the impending spring season and no doubt a look ahead to more exceptional music from the Finnish artist.
