Cast aside and shunned by nobility. He was thrown into exile, far from home. Left to wander in a stranger's land, he makes his way into the hearts and minds of his new found brothers and sisters. This place he now calls home.

Faced with the rising of another petty noble, destined to not allow history to repeat itself, he gathers his might, his strategy, and his courage. Together with those that follow him faithfully...piece by piece, tribe by tribe, he builds an empire...his Empire.

Life. So many turns, so much done, so much to do, so much that will remain undone.

We make our choices, one at a time. We reflect on what impact we will have. We think of where each decision will take us. We think of whose lives we will touch. 

I reach to god for answers. I look within my own soul. I look within the souls of others. I must accept what I cannot change, and change what I must.

Will my life matter, will I be remembered as a burden or a blessing? What will others remember of my soul?

How should I have been? How should I be? Who should I become?

Sometimes, it seems, I am surrounded by melancholy. A stream of uphill battles, illness, pain, and suffering. At times I feel lost, depressed, and without answers.

Does anyone see where I am?

Such a strange mix of emotions, when the world fades to become a universe of loss, with brief blips of joy.

Inside my head, I move quietly through a vast wilderness of sound. My depression takes it's form in the shape of music. I know I will not feel this way forever, but for now, I let the music have it's way.

If you could hear how I feel when the world around me seems to be too much, this is the music you would hear...

Depression

There are times in our life when we live between light and the dark. We contemplate despair and hope, but find some strange attraction to the melancholy state of mind.

In the quiet hours after the sun has been laid to rest, we dream, we think, we introspect. We take in the quiet embrace of the shadow and our minds begin to wander. Between the cracks, between the emotion, we seek our solace in the many Shades of Night.

Shades of Night

As I wake each day, I ponder what steps will guide me next. What plan does God have for me.

Each day brings new struggles, sickness, disease, and depression. Also, each day brings new joys; my children grow and learn so fast, the love I have for my wife grows each day.

At each point in my life, each struggle, each strife, I have a choice to make. A road I must choose to follow. I have never been one to live in what could have been, nor do I know what tomorrow will bring.

Today, however, I will walk the Road of Hope.

Road Of Hope

This world has thrown me a long running series of both obstacles and joy. There are times when the obstacles outnumber the joy, when the walls of the world are caving in.

My disabilities become the avatars of my anger and frustration washes over me. At times the world feels like a battleground, and each step in it is a major victory.

With all that I am, and all that has stood in my way, with all that the avatars of my anger want me to become, I say this triumphantly...I will Fight to the End.

Fight To The End

Life. A vast desert of lost souls. Over 6 and one half billion souls were lost in the course of a single week. So many years ago, it's hard to remember exactly when or how it happened.

The streets erupted in a life truly violent. The lost souls of human lives converted into instinctive monsters of unquenchable hunger. Now we, the living, desperately creep like rats through the walls of this new horrible construct.

We wake each day with slipping memories of a life behind us. Those we love, smears of paint on a tainted canvas. We linger, surviving, living only to live. Our hopes and dreams project a vision of life ahead, a return to normal, a new eden resurrected from the ashes.

But today, we cling to each breath. Today, we live Life at the End.

Trapped inside a person she isn't. A show and tell for the amusement of her lover, she longs for something more...her. She's lived so long as a facade, she's forgotten who she is, or why.

It's time to break away, she's finally done with being pulled by the strings, tired of being the one with whom he fiddles until his perfect girl is who he wants her to be.

It's time for her to pull the strings, time for his dance at the expense of others...it's her time, to fiddle.

Fiddler

Centuries pass as whispers. Lost to the intent, he searches the ages for meaning. Love has found him, and lost him across seas of time and memory.

From the ashes of mistakes came his birth into a new forever. He has died, he has lived. He has helped and hindered mankind. Too afraid to see the day, too lonely to live in the night, he tries to make sense from form and shadow.

He longs for love, a companion to walk with him in forever amongst the world. All his thoughts and dreams before fade into echoes of a failed past. It is time to focus, to bring back to his life the meaning that time has lost. He will love again, and this time, he will hold to it.

Whatever he must do, from his torment and toil, he will repeat that which has made him. Against his sense and logic, he will have the companion of his dreams, and together, they will walk eternity. Under one Immortal Shadow.

Today has been a rough day for me emotionally. I don't know why, or how, but I've just been feeling odds with myself. Oddly enough, this came forward in my head and I had to record it. It's short, it's sweet, and it helped me make a better day for myself.

I was never perfect. I've lived my life with my fair share of fault. If you look, it's not hard to find the shadows where my weakness lives. I have loved, and have fallen short. I may be judged for my lacking, for my not being real, but I know that at least what I am and what I was, for better or for worse, has mattered.

There are times when it rains, and times when it snows. In Virginia, the weather can be a fickle mistress. I find awe and beauty in both the rain and the snow, but rarely, only rarely, I will be blessed to see the two dance together, both Rain and Snow.

Peace At Night

Don't know why, I was working on a composition commission for a space-based video game, but I couldn't get the call to write this song out of my head LOL.

The best laid plans sometimes de-rail. Our hearts are such fickle and demanding things, pulling us one way then the other. Each person is gifted by god with a song of their own. Living this life is the act of writing your composition. How full and colorful and wonderful it can be.

This is the Tune of My Heart leading to my life until now. What wonders does the future hold for the unwritten parts of my song?
