Extravagant

Rejected welcome Greek DJ/Producer Stelios Vassiloudis to the family with his superb label debut. 'Ricochet'.

Made on the move, as he trekked back and forth between Europe and South East Asia, both tracks share a sense of raw dynamism that is reflective of the touring and immediacy of Stelios' mobile production setup. Less is more as they say, and this is never more pertinent than in the creation and sound of both 'Keluar' and 'Thick And Thin'.

Keluar, or 'Get Out' in Malay, forcefully issues its order via its thumping kick and rubbery bassline. Spring-loaded percussion snaps and fires as Stelios ushers in waves of synth and wails of vocal, before hurling us back into its heads-down groove.

On the flip, 'Thick And Thin' teases us. Living up to its name via its stocky, thundering opening before blooming via its rippling atmospherics and chopped vocal, to become a beautiful deep house tool.

<p>A threefold trip is presented here by TN.T, with the title track establishing dominance as mangled vocals and quirky synths meet a juicy, rubber-band bassline.&nbsp; &#8220;Pik Poket&#8221; opts for a more heads-down approach, utilizing a straightforward drumset and sticky sub-bass.&nbsp; The EP closes with the low-end heaviness of &#8220;Grot&#8221;, as even more vocal manipulation is introduced and growling stabs add a futuristic edge while distant electronics intertwine with the shuffling snares.</p>

TN.T - Rave (Original Mix)

For this Second State mix, the idea was to go outside of the techno and house sound that is normally expected and to dive into the music I enjoy listening to at home or on the road. To be honest it was really difficult to pick one style or "sound" to focus on, so I decided to try to create a really diverse mix of stuff I listen to frequently. From beginning to end, it covers a lot of sonic ground from cinematic stuff like Apparat, Ry X and Cliff Martinez to afro-beat classics like Fela Kuti and more modern tunes like Floating Points collaboration with Maaleem Mahmoud Guinia and the boundary pushing Congo band Mbongwana Star. From there I dove into Mexican surf rock tunes from Ween and El Santo Nada and right into timeless stuff like Can and Isaac Hayes before finishing up with a bit of thrashy rock gems from The Sound and Pixies. I tried to stay as far away from what everyone normal expects and hopefully you enjoy a trip down the wilder side of my music collection. See you BYND....
