London based @Hyasynthe pulls up slowly building delight, Aurora. Particles shuttle around in the upper atmosphere, causing reddish and green hues to dance, all as that same sample loops over and over, building, waxing and waning. How can the producers use of Ableton 10, 808’s and your own heartstring have such an effect on the magnetic pole of the earth? we're completely unsure. 

We never thought something with so emotionally driven, and many hued could be birthed from someone hailing from Milton Keynes; what some call the Jewel of the Buckinghamshire heartland, but most consider the complete antithesis. Opposites attract, we suppose but this sonic sonnet is one to be saved, that’s for sure.

Time Zones is the dance music project of Dan Gentile and Jack Murphy. The two began making music together in 2014 while living in Austin, Texas. Their work is rooted in the appreciation of soulful house music and dollar bin disco singles.

The Vibe Shack EP wears its influences on its chipboard sleeve. Crackling litigation-worthy samples loop over an assembly of live (read: non-quantized) tracked instruments, including a Korg PolySix, Roland JX-3P, modular synthesizer, and a broken x0xb0x, giving each track that lively, human touch. Also included is a punchy Unknown FM remix of the title track. The tunes have been mastered hot by Benoit D at Perception Mastering for maximum dance floor impact.

Thoughtful and understated, the Vibe Shack EP combines witty sample-work, live instrumentation, and analog synthesis to create 4 sonic collages. By marrying 70’s soul and disco samples with more subtle classic house themes, live bass and keys, Time Zones’ take on a familiar palette manifests as fresh, inventive, and playful.

Her tunes are that special blend of banging and emotionally charged that hits the sweet spot - influenced by her classical piano training background, an upbringing in the impenetrable rainforest basin of Vanvcouver, and her time spent DJing Berlin, performing alongside legends like Prosumer, DVS1, Daniel Bell, The Black Madonna, Steffi, and others. Now one of our favs drops her sophomore release on your favorite label: The 5-track mini-album “Sleeping In Shapes' moves through the gamut of Braue’s moody, eerily tough sonic palette. Micro flourishes emerge through the moody haze snaring you into the vibe. Release opener “Gravy Train” clangs like the best of them, swirling pads ensconce a looping vocal and full frontal 4/4/ thump, before jumping deep into the motorik motors & square bass throwback of “Spiral”. “Robot Arms” veers into more leftfield territory, from there we float off-world with the lush embrace of “Succulent” before breaking entirely free of any constraints of Earthly gravity on closing track “The Rattle”. Throughout all these pieces, the work contains elements of aquatic downtempo bordering the fringes of Chicago house, a dance party in a dreamscape setting. The Austrian electronic music label fortunea starts off the new decade with a bang! This time they come up with a new EP by label fellow Peletronic.

It’s called ‚Secret Escape‘ and begins with the raw and energetic title track, that is driven by MPC-style melody chops and a grooving bassline. Deﬁnitely a lot of peak time potential here. The original track is accompanied by a remix of charismatic Australian dj- and producer Jad & The, who transforms it into an euphoric deep house weapon with funky breaks and analogue infused acid sequences.

The ﬁrst track of the B-side is setting up a darker mood. It’s called „My House Is Your House“ and comes up with spaced out elements that complement each other into a late night/early morning club atmosphere. Voice- and effect artefacts sprinkle through the listeners head, while kick and bassline are holding everything together. Jon Gravy makes the remix dutys on B2 and delivers a stomping alternative to the original. A funky reverberant guitar, a staccato male vocal and high pitched piano stabs gives you back these feellings of mid 1990s chicago house memories.

All in all a must have house record for this upcoming festival season. Don’t miss out! __
