Charleeps returns to clipp.art with her debut EP “Hope for the Future''. Following her appearance on our “SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD TIME III” in 2020 with the song Matabiau, and cuts for Happiness Theory and Les Disques Du Lobby, “Hope for the Future'' delivers 3 cohesive cuts of raw electronica, delving into the depths of ambient, acid, breakbeat and leftfield. Epic title track “Hope for the Future'' cuts a before and after figure, containing nostalgic nods to the past with swirling strings and St Germain-esque piano delays, before tumbling into a 303 groove hole that propels the entire release forward. It’s one of several looking back to look forward moments found on the EP. “Cosmic Rain” delivers a low fidelity exploration of analog archetypes via scrolling 3D corridors of Parisian Acid House - like an endless video game scrolling loop for 90s inspired French ravers. “Step by Step” closes the tribal rave circuit with a Junglish acid assault on the frontal lobe. Moroccan sunrise vocals and staccato stabs never go astray. The whole release could be easily described best as a Roland branded time machine sinking into an oceanic Acid sunset, and speaks volumes of hope for the future of this new French talent.

Tamer ElDerini pays homage to his Egyptian roots with a majestic organic house EP on Baikal Nomads, which also includes downtempo and progressive house remixes by BEBO (EG), Andrew Shartner, and G.O.D.A.

One of Egypt's most accomplished electronic music producers, Tamer ElDerini is a Cairo-based artist. His music combines traditional Middle Eastern instruments with modern electronic sounds. He is making his debut on Baikal Nomads following music on other respected record label such as Sol Selectas, • kosa •, Cosmic Awakenings, and Pipe & Pochet.

Complementing the two original tracks are three remixes. The first rework is by BEBO (EG), who is an Egyptian artist making music that's a cultural tapestry. Taking the tribal percussion of Afro house, he mixes in Middle Eastern melodies from his own heritage, and fuses them with electronic sounds. His tracks and remixes can be heard on the likes of Cafe De Anatolia and Shango Records.

Based in Western Siberia, Andrew Shartner is a Baikal Nomads regular, whose style is inspired by nature and its striking landscapes.

G.O.D.A. is another Egyptian artist, and he is an ambassador for Egypt's underground scene. He has played DJ sets all over the world, and his storytelling style has garnered an international fanbase. His organic style of progressive house has been released by prestigious record labels such as 3rd Avenue.

The title track, "Desert Voice," opens the release with a throbbing bass synth, laying a foundation for the enchanting melodies of Middle Eastern strings. "Dana Dana" is second of the original tracks, and its tranquil pads, Arabic vocals, and delicate piano melodies, intertwine with flowing percussion. BEBO (EG)'s remix of "Dana Dana" adds extra percussion and an arpeggio bassline, which brings an Afro house groove to the original's string melodies. Andrew Shartner delivers a downtempo remix of "Dana Dana," which strips out the strings to focus on trippy guitar chords. G.O.D.A. closes the release with a progressive house remix of "Desert Voice” that utilises a new melody and melodic pads.

SHEE has been tearing up the Irish scene and the internet at the minute. Getting traction off his releases through various channels he has now layed down a jazzy swang single for our ears. “Late Night Space Jam” moves through floating rhythms that put you back in a velvet recliner seat, distorted vocal samples picked up from waving a field recorder at tv signals and a bass line crafted to keep you driving. Cosmic, baby. Be careful though, you might get lost down the rabbit hole listening to this one.

Yeong Die is an artist residing in South Korea that got into music after commencing her study of piano at age 6. In the following years she was influenced by Chopin and Beethoven, K-Pop, Bill Evans and Brad Mehldau, Aphex Twin and the Boards of Canada, Bjork, Erykah Badu and DJ 威力. “Studying jazz from an early age made me want to make music that understood the concept of ‘improvisation’. I started producing with minimal equipment, using only Master Keyboard, MacBook, and Logic X... ”. In 2018 she dropped her debut self album “PIZZAPI” and began her journey as a DJ, producer, and sound designer - collaborating predominantly with video media.

Ahead of what would be the strangest year in living history, on January 1, 2020, Yeong Die quit her job and purchased her first synthesizer - a Korg Minilogue. She began working on music at 9am, every morning for three months. The resulting tempest of sound and ideas would be developed further over a total of 7 months from the start of the project, completion being the full length “Threshold Value” - a ten track odyssey of noise and textures and heavy concept clashes skipping between Ambient, Industrial, Manipulated Audio Media, Music and Non-Music Sound. Pieces like “Nool the Que” announce themselves like a love story involving telephone modems giving birth to a dystopian neon future. “Anywhere is Fine” can be heard at home bouncing around the confines of a basement fight club. The 10 minute “Worstward Ho” or “Much O O” could derive from a modern Music for Airports, albeit a 2020 version minus the hustle and bustle, echoes from a place both desolate and tense. 

In Yeong Die’s own words: “The theme of “Threshold Value” is embodied in the title songs ‘Anywhere is Fine’ and ‘Worstward Ho’. I focused on the sense of bearing and pain that I can never get used to. Holding, or not holding up are completely different, but I think the distance between these is very close. “Threshold Value” was the work of finding the space as close as possible between patience and explosion.”
