A labour of love for our Melbourne based crew/label, SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD TIME compiles music from the first 30 clipp.art Original Release series plus a whole gang more! A deep dive in unvarnished electronica, with journeys into the colourful corners of aquatic disco, dream-state acid, and clanging house, from an array of 35 modern underground and unschooled artists. Featuring more than a few previously unreleased new heaters, the compilation is both a celebration and present to all raw house / lo-fi lovers.

Having previously released three critically acclaimed Secretsundaze mix comps, DANCE 2017 is the first label compilation, representing an exciting new chapter for the label. The artwork and name 'DANCE 2017' is a reference to the feel of pioneering late 80s and early 90s house and techno compilations. The comp is delivered in a non-mixed format as well as a mixed format, with the duo mixing it live at The Pickle Factory, where the pair hold their monthly Secretsundaze - All Night Long residency, playing 8 hour sets each month.

This debut EP from Melbourne's String Theorem & Test Pattern has got the vision for a summer to remember. Moving seamlessly (unlike your Saab) through blissful house grooves and affirming disco, this record is shouting HEAT! 

Opening with Paradise Architects, you can feel the rising tension and warm glow, like when look around the club and think “we are on”, beers are flowing and the sweet touching piano line rings throughout the club. The second track Zaire jumps at you with an infectious saxophone line and ambient crowd noises, like a raving beach party that's a bit bigger than expected. Ear Power was Inspired from “a sunrise set during the first good day of Summer”. This track is a peak time belter to raise hands to and feel the relief that finally... summer is here! Night Poetry is an end of the night closer with a funky nostalgic groove, making you hug the stranger next to you who you befriended in one night!

30th release. I guess it's funny how time flies. 

Speaking of "Time", Albert Einstein said “Time is an illusion”, while Andy Warhol once wrote “They say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself”. But of all musing about Time, I like the author Marthe Troly-Curtin’s quote best that “Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time”. 

When it’s 6am and you’re stood in a forest somewhere unknown - the sun coming up, and you’re surrounded by friends, while electronic rhythms vibrate through you, shirtless, twisting your body as though participating in some sort of ancient tribal neon ritual. Yeah, you get it. 

The track “Time” by New York based artist Monolithic, is an expansive inducer of vibe. A luscious slice of clangin’ housewerk that captures the listener in its mix of swirling pads, IDM riddims and warm jets of bass. Somewhere in the fog, a female siren emerges, calling out “All I Need Is Time. All I Need Is Time. Make This Feel Right” - drawing you in, closer and deeper. And much like that magical 6am rave hour, you lose yourself in the moment. Time enjoyed, indeed!

DEEP DEEP DEEP! Jungle stomping, smoke thicker than the pill you just ingested and a overall vibe of “where did my shoes go?” at 3am, inside a forest doof. Think that sums this track up pretty well…
Zane Schaffer has given us the beast itself with this dark, twisted four minute froffer. Some say Dracula himself came to visit and helped collab on this beat it’s so spooky. Samples of howling bells and that hovering synth line provides that Insatiable thirst for this track. Has us glued to our seats what he comes up with next.
