For its 225th release Freerange welcomes this exciting Austrian producer who goes by the name Demuja, you already know him if you follow closely LYO. His "Mary Janes Theory" record caused something of a stir when it came out at the start of the year on his fledgling vinyl-only label Muja. Taking his inspiration from classic deep house but with a rough and raw approach, Demuja sit proudly alongside the likes of Ross From Friends, Mall Grab or Rimbaudian riding the new wave of fresh, contemporary house.
On his Freerange debut, the Move EP offers up four original tracks, each with their own distinct flavour. Opening the release we have title track "Move" spring into action with simple Rhodes chords floating across a crisp, driving up-tempo groove showing off the deeper side to Demuja. Next up "B.o.o.m" offers us a simple yet captivating, dancefloor-focused affair with a lone, repeating piano stab hooking us into the action. Flipping over we have "Into My Brain" which brings some acid-tinged Italo vibes and a jacking beat to proceedings whilst the closing track "Turn Me On" cuts up a much-loved Paradise Garage classic for a warm, soul-infused slice of classic, bumpy house music.

Dutch producer POLEJAM kicks off 2019 with his debut EP on Boston, Massachusetts label, hadtodoit records. This vinyl-only label with previous releases from Lo-Fi house staples, Slim Hustla & DOS, continues their hazy & nostalgia inducing sound with their third release from POLEJAM.  Lead track, ‘Regular’, warms you up with a steady 4 to the floor beat, melodic synth loop and hypnotizing vocal sample, giving it a crisp and groovy feel. The third track ‘LES’ has a 90’s sitcom theme song vibe. As you reminisce about the 90’s with its emotional piano & guitar riff loop, POLEJAM shows off his sense of rhythm with an afro percussion breakdown towards the end of the track. Feature track, ‘Back When’ takes you back to simpler times of getting faded and skateboarding with your friends till the late night hours. The pulsating synth loop and punchy bassline give you a sense of time travel. Accompanied by various synth percussions ‘Back When’ has a nice groove helping you navigate through your flashback to those simple and great times.

DJ Whipr Snipr started Nerang Recordings with his Australian friends back in 2016 and now like a typical rug rat is residing in Berlin so clearly there is no slowing this train down. After what I would describe as a “cheeky” release titled “I’m Tired” last year with your favorite label, he returns to the clipp.art fold with friends Birdwatcher & Grey People to collaborate on a new two-track ep clearly created in the midst of the sesh. Both tracks have their own flavours but come together as one emotional combo to address the partie. Hard hitting like the raves Whipr has been grinding since moving to Germania, you can hear how the locale flora and fauna has influenced his work with a maturity that wasn’t previously apparent. While we can’t wait to hear what’s next for this guy, these tracks have been bumpin on our big speakers for some time and are postiive they will deliver you instant vibe satisfaction.

Black Loops returns to Freerange for the follow up release to his 2018 EP
entitled 7Hills, one of the labels biggest vinyl sellers of recent years and
another reminder of why Riccardo Paffetti is one of the most consistent and
prolific house producers on the scene. With recent releases on Madhouse, Toy
Tonics, Neovinyl and Traxx Underground, as well as remixes for the likes of
Waajeed (scheduled), Tender Games and Joey Negro, Black Loops continues to be in high demand and has resulted in a packed DJ schedule taking him from South Africa to Australia, from the US to Asia as well as playing regularly in Europe and his home city of Berlin.

For his Something Special release Black Loops has treated us to three original
tracks (with a fourth added for the digital package) which will please his regular followers whilst showing us a development to his sound. His trademark shuffling beats, warm bouncing basslines and analogue pads are all present and correct. Tracks that feel deceptively simple and minimal enough to sound lovely on big sound systems, but which also offer enough depth and musicality to touch the soul and connect with on a deeper level. But… we can also hear some fresh sound design coming into play, punchy FM synths cutting through the mix, some more delicate melodies and rolling arrangements which unfold gently and draw you into their warm confines.
