Istanbul-based artist Marc Gonen goes from strength to strength with more of his own multi-genre sound on “Can’t Pull Myself Away” - the second single lifted from his forthcoming sophomore EP “All Night Long”. And what a vibe the Turk brings to this little groover! A vibe inducer of the highest order, carried along by clanging percussion cowbell arrays and a pitched vocal streaming to you from the wobbly depths of the dance hole. It’s not often we talk about breakdown/drops at clipp.art but this one will have you melting down and bouncing up over and over. Can’t pull myself away from this one. Literally.

Istanbul-based artist Marc Gonen delivers his second EP release “All Night Long” on clipp.art. The Turkish resident holding a masterclass in advanced lo-fi vibe-ism on this set of  heady groovers, carried along by a smorgasbord of clanging beats and earworm percussives, punctuated by delayed stabs, dreamy vocals, steel drum and twangy guitars. Alongside bassline riffs that won’t let go, there is a tangible warmth that permeates throughout the four tracks comprised here that beckon to you equally from places as deep as the wobbly depths of the dance hole or the crispy highs that arrive like the simple joy of blazing one alone on a park bench in Autumn, leaves swirling etc. Some music picks you up, others take you away, Marc’s tunes will have you melting down and bouncing back, over and over, all night long.

leoleoleo is a project by Manchester based DJ and producer, Leo Burrell. After a euphoric debut single in the spring of 2022 which saw support from Horse Meat Disco, Sasha and Bill Brewster, as well as DJ sets alongside Romare, Cody Currie and Crazy P, Leo returns with a more melancholic yet still optimistic, tropes EP, landing on November 25th, featuring collaborations with jazz pianist, Rupert Cox and ambient guitarist, John Diver.

The tropes EP continues the half-glass-full aesthetic of the agadir/parapet EP, with soaring pads, arpeggiators and synth leads taking center stage, all underpinned by consistently broken kicks – there's no 4-on-the-floor in sight here. It has a definite home-listening dynamic, but all the tracks explore modern dance-floor tropes, hence the title.

The first and only single, red sun (out November 4th - music video ) was born out of a formative trip to Jordan in January 2020, with memories of crossing the sublime Wadi Rum desert in a jeep inspiring epic soundscapes, punctuated by a momentous breakbeat, pounding kicks and a funky yet machine-like bassline.

Opening track, yuánfen ft. rupert cox sees offcuts of jazz pianist, Rupert Cox’s forthcoming debut album sampled alongside an elusive ‘60s sample. More pads and analog goodness were added later by Rupert, with leoleoleo on arpeggiators, drums and arrangement.

Third track, esme ft. john diver is a collaboration with Glaswegian ambient guitarist, John Diver which was previewed back in April, leading to support from veteran, Bill Brewster as well as play-listing from EELF, Majestic Casual and Sasha, who added it to the burgeoning LUZoSCURA editorial.

Acting title track, trope, was written in the first lockdown of 2020, with a doomsday sensibility pervading throughout. Inspired by Joy Orbison’s Slipping EP, this deceptively slow number chugs with a driving energy from more broken kicks before unfolding into a huge bass drop which concludes the EP.

Native to Sweden, the Manchester based artist @bobo-102 has set out to free himself from the terrestrial bonds of earth and explore the ephemeral sounds of the outer atmosphere.  

Leaning into this stylistic predisposition, Contact takes characteristic elements from the worlds of dubstep, ambient, breaks, electro and techno to create bold, cinematic textures and extraterrestrial imagery.

With previous releases on Gestalt Records, Gunfinger Food, Eluize’s Night Tide and Further Electronix - alongside his own Bars of Beats and PSU projects - we’re super delighted to now officially welcome him to the @erbium-records family!

effgee releases the third EP on his imprint fellice – Deep House meets Jazz with a warm, analogue touch. The three tracks featured include various production approaches: “New Disco Groove” evolved over time from a more Disco sounding track into a groovy and dreamy Deep House trip, whereas “Pain & Wine” and “Lying to yourself” take things in a slightly more Jazzy direction. “Lying to yourself” also contains recordings from effgee’s live drumming, with an emotive, Jazz influenced break beat groove.
