Having established themselves as a reliable source of house treats, Axe on Wax has decided to launch a sub-label to cater for "grittier" material. The first missive on Axe Traxx comes from previously unheard Sydney duo Sonderr. Their trademark sound is crusty, analogue sounding, and smothered in tape hiss. Even so, there's a drowsy beauty to standout cut "All My Dreams", despite the presence of a booming, sub-heavy bassline and clattering, all-action drum machine beats. The deeper and dreamier "Finding Time" is almost as good, with the duo holding back on the intensity in favour of rich ambient house chords, eyes-closed melody lines, and fizzing, Motor City inspired drums. Mall Grab's remix of the same track is, rather predictably, also rather good.

After his widely appreciated debut EP on S4AW remixed Cassius & Pharrell Williams on Ed Banger (yup!) and released some original stuff on Suol and Kakudo. Now he's back on board of the S4AW boat with a monster double EP – House for diggers, lovers and everyone else who's got Soul.

Remixes come courtesy of Philpot Honcho Soulphiction another one by well-respected French producer Bruno Hovart aka Patchworks.

Alltogether a Double EP bubbling over with excitement for Funk, Soul, Disco and Flutes (of course!). Tons of samples and complex drumming crafted the unique Kolja-kinda-way, with everything from deepest, jazzy Deep House Excursions over the typical Disco Slammers to funky excursions with Kolja on Rhodes Piano and Vocals himself...

Huge material incoming from stalwart, Shall Not Fade, celebrating their three years in existence. If you've been following them from day dot, you'll realise how quick that has flown by - but time in the sonisphere moves fast - real fast. Wistfully looking back to their inaugural compilation followed by Mall Grab's SNF001, one thing to note is their ability to provide supreme quality in mass - two variables which don't usually marry up. 32ish records in three years, featuring artists such as Mall Grab, LK, Rick Wade, DJ Boring as well as contributing towards bringing through the likes of Adryiano, Trudge and Harrison BDP - it's no mean feat. 

Babble aside, we're lucky enough to be part of the anniversary celebrations along with you listeners. We're featuring OG, Mella Dee's 'Patchwerk' - who serves up a paper plate overspilling with retro-futurist basement garage cake for your enjoyment. Wash it down with a cup of LK's miscellaneous party punch - speak to the other guests as the effects start to wash over you. Was this regular 'retro-futurist basement garage' cake? - maybe it was the party punch? Murmurs rise that Skream and his entourage are arriving later on a herd of carousel horses.
