This week, I have set up a feast of Tech courtesy of our friends over at Society Music Recordings to celebrate their first birthday!

1 year ago, these guys took a chance on me and released my debut EP "Genocide" which enjoyed huge success for us both. As the first year of "No Ordinary Music" fast approaches, Society Music Recordings will be releasing 3 outstanding albums to showcase the labels talent. 

Each album is compiled by one of the Society Music Recordings founders, Gigi Squillante Dj, Vincenzo Volpe dj and DEFEO. All 3 albums are due for release on the 28th March 2017 and are titled as follows:

Society Music Recordings - One Year of Hard Techno

As a tribute to the fantastic accomplishments of this label in it's relatively short life, I will be dedicating my entire show to the tracks from these 3 albums. A super special preview for you all, and a chance for me to even try and repay the debt I owe all these guys for there tireless efforts with myself and other artists, which in no small way, has been a huge factor in their success. A label that isn't afraid to take risks, a label that stands out against the competition, a label that consists of a huge variety of talents that together create "No Ordinary Music".

Normen Flaskamp began producing back in the late 90ies but it was in 2006 that his "Solee" alias was born, propelling him to new heights in the house and techno realm. In the same year he decided to take the reins into his own hands and set up his own recordlabel "Parquet Recordings" to disseminate his distinctive take on deep melodic House & Techno. Aside from his own revered imprint, Solee's productions have graced some of the best-known underground recordlabels in the world: Bedrock, Suara, Noir Music, Sudbeat, Yohitoshi, Einmusika, Kittball only to name a few. Having played across Europe and international hot spots like Miami, Moscow, Tel Aviv, Buenos Aires, New York, Beirut, Melbourne and more, he's been able to communicate his typical energetic & melodic "Soleesound" to crowds in many different countries all over the world.

BIO:
"I was lucky enough to be born into a large family of musicians with a deep appreciation for music. I was exposed to a huge array of sounds and musical genre’s.

My interest levels peaked in 1989 when my sister brought home a new 12inch EP. She called me into the living room, and said, "I’ve got this new song, it’s a bit rude so put on your headphones and listen to this” As an 11 year old boy, I was obviously intrigued.

The track? Lil Louis - French Kiss. I was hooked.

Fast forward to 2007, I started DJing professionally and developing my own sound. Producers were starting to create the sort of sound I craved and these new styles sparked my creativity and desire to start producing. In 2016 I signed and released my first 2 track EP with Society Music Recordings.

This EP gained some outstanding support from all over the world. Producing has given me that freedom of expression I was missing all those years ago and now, 2 years later, signed with 13 labels, international track support, performing at events like ADE in 2017 have all made my head spin. It seems like it all happened so fast, but I was just waiting for the time when my eclectic tastes and style would be appreciated.

I look forward to see what the coming years hold for me, one thing is for sure, I have now found my home and won’t be going anywhere for a long time to come."

Since the success of our beloved Berlin Mixtapes Series, which has featured awesome guests so far, we felt there was a real gap in terms of showcasing the amazing talent within our own home city right here in Brighton. We have a wide spectrum of artists that span across many genres therefore we decided we would create the 'Brighton Mixtapes' Series, so that we can not only showcase established artists but also feature up and coming musicians that would like a platform to be heard.
 
Equally, whilst our focus at Berlin has always been somewhere between Deep House and Techno we can now open up and extend a wider reach into other genres that Brighton has to offer. Also each artist will be subject to a series of one answer quick-fire questions to accompany each guest mix to give readers a quirky insight into the artists' likes and dislikes.
 
Next up we bring you DJ & producer Cliquee (clicky), who started DJing professionally in 2007, this soon led to him producing his debut EP and signing with Society Music Recordings in April 2016.

Since signing with Society Music, Cliquee has also signed to Kaleydo Beats, Aila Records, Antarctic Records, TrueLife Recordings, SubTech Collective Light, SubTech Collective Dark, BlackKat, TrueLife Recordings, NightShift Records, KONNEQT, Acid 606-61 & Maintain Replay Records. His tracks have been used on various compilation albums for the likes of Techno Kreis, Techno Szene Records, Re:vibe Audio, Unlicensed Radio Records, Green Alien Records, Spiral Groove Recordings, Honey Bunny, Ten Tec Stuck and Techno Materials.

Originally from Portsmouth (UK), he has performed all over the south coast of England including London’s Ministry of Sound, as well as Making his Amsterdam Dance Event debut in 2017. Soon other international performances came to fruition with gigs in Italy, Cyprus & Germany.

Since moving back into the production side of the industry, he has had great success within the Techno scene. His style is unique and eclectic, best described as "Tech with a twist" his sound has elements of Techno, Tech House, Minimal Techno, Detroit Techno, Dub Techno and Deep Tech, as well as influences from his wide appreciation for all musical styles.
