MoSS may be a new name to some in the music game,
but his production credits are instantly recognizable.
Ghostface Killah’s smash hit “Kilos”, Raekwon's "Have Mercy", Obie
Trice's entire "Special Reserve" album and most
recently a collaborative album with Eternia "At Last" released on
Fatbeats.  The Canadian-born, Toronto area resident has been bubbling just
below the surface of worldwide notoriety for quite some time, and is
now preparing the release of his debut production album featuring the
likes of Joell Ortiz, Slum Village, Ill
Bill and the lead single "Started" feat. AZ, DJ Premier & Joe Budden.

MoSS got his first taste of notoriety by working with Obie Trice (Shady
Records) around 2000. Moss was producing
records for Obie – including both his independent singles "Well Known"
and the 12” “Mr. Trice” – which created the buzz
that eventually led to Obie’s major label deal. Since then, MoSS has produced
for a long list of “who’s who” in the Hip Hop world, including: Joell Ortiz,
Ghostface, Papoose, Peedi Crack, The Game, Slum Village, Boot Camp Clik,
Red Cafe, Mr Easy, AZ, Bounty Killa, D-Block (Styles P and Sheek Louch),
Termanology, Big Shug, M.O.P., Kool G. Rap, Ras Kass, Omilio Sparks, Proof of
D12, and the list goes on.

A former member of DJ Premier’s production label, “Works of Mart”, as
Premier’s first ever production signee, MoSS is not only an emcee’s producer,
but a producer’s producer as well. Recognized by an elite group in his
field, he is known by many as a record digger.  Having assisted on price guides,
rare record books and various musical anthologies, MoSS eventually
started his own reissue label 'Strawberry Rain' that specializes in
re-releasing rare psychedelic music from around the world, including countries like Indonesia, Iran, France and even Zambia where he
travelled to find records and artists.  His label has gained
recognition across the globe and his releases have been reviewed in everything from Guitar Player magazine to an Indonesian division of Rolling Stone Magazine.  A record collector in the truest sense of the word.

MoSS has been recognized in publications such as Rollingstone, SPIN,Scratch, People Magazine, Pound, Fadeout, and more.  Production credits combined, the talented producer has sold over 2 million records worldwide.

With more than 15 years in the game, Long Island beatsmith BP The Neckbreaker has established himself as one of the go-to producers for a number of notable emcees. He’s worked with Wu-Tang members and affiliates (RZA, 9th Prince), rap legends who are longer with us (Sean Price, Prodigy), and underground heavyweights (Ras Kass, Nature). And with Timeless Music, BP is showcasing his monumental talents behind the boards while giving a strong nod to the artists he’s collaborated with over the years.

For the producer, putting together the unreleased tracks, remixes, and classic cuts for 'Timeless Music' was his way of releasing something that “could be played in any era.” He wanted to share something that remains fresh, no matter when you listen to it. Like Nas did with Illmatic and GZA did with Liquid Swords, BP says, “I just tried to add my piece to the culture of Hip-Hop that hopefully will live on for a long time.” 

To say he accomplishes that goal on this project would be an understatement. 'Timeless Music' has that raw, Boom bap edge to it that doesn’t sound dated, or of a specific era. Artists will be striving to flip joints like this for years to come, and BP has certainly laid an intriguing blueprint for how to do so. 

Just listen to his bonkers remix of 4 HRSMN’s “Historic,” which has just as many beat changes as rappers (five!). And then there’s the crazy pair of flips on the Sean P-featured “Forever P,” the dark beauty of “Cyanide Poetry” with 9th Prince and Killah Priest, and the straight slapper, “Stacking Ammo,” featuring Frukwan (of Gravediggaz) and 9th.

When people hear these tracks, BP just hopes they walk away with respect for his craft. “Too many people are sleeping,” he says. “I need to wake them up.” Consider this your wake-up call.

'Timeless Music' is available for exclusive stream today only via HipHop-N-More, before it becomes available tomorrow (Friday, 9/01) through  all digital retailers and streaming platforms through BP’s own label, Common Virtue Records.
