This is my approach to "nu polyphony", where distant musical materials collide to form a particular kind of sound-mass. Duality is explored on multiple levels. 

It is both noise and music. 

It is both live and recorded music. 

It is both a loop and a linear piece of music.

About the piece:
The opening movement of the wind quartet is a prelude in the math-rock style. The term math-rock is (like many other classifications) inaccurate to defining the style of this music. The closest description of the sound 

 Monobody, Haisuinonasa, Tera Melos

Multiphonics are used for all 4 instruments. 

Focus on the duality of tone colour and harmonic progression through multiphonics, embracing their imperfect balance of tones. 
    
Imperfections of the multiphonics to be treated as tone colour. 

With the dualistic aesthetic in mind, a tug of war between harmony and tone color unfolds..

Wind Quartet I. Prelude (Oct. 2020)

I make noise music from styles ranging from Renaissance choral music to Djent as sources to explore possibilities of symbiosis between genres. By bending genres out of their context, we can emancipate ourselves from what I call the guided tour, that is, musical traditions, styles, the canon, and go in a personal direction.
