we love you all, remember to breathe, and it’s probably a good idea to jump in the water even if it seems cold you’ll get out and be like “ah that was nice im happy”

(if you don’t get the image: In the 90s during the Summer every Summer for like 11 years one of the most common commercials on children’s television like Nickelodeon was this Sears air conditioner home install commercial that begins with a wife begging her husband to call Sears because she’s dying without AC & he keeps neglecting to do it & it’s the 90s so women aren’t allowed to use phones or make major home appliance purchases or otherwise interact with tradespeople at all, and he’s like ok I’ll call tomorrow & she’s like you said you’d call yesterday, so he’s like ok I’ll call now but in a slightly patronizing way like it’s clear he works outside the home during the hot part and he just wants to read his paper and drink his coffee & anyway they get sears + then at the end of the spot she’s like what’s the weather like [because he’s reading the paper, so much of this context would have to be explained to kids these days] and he’s like “another scorcher” & she says “cool” because she doesn’t care anymore now that her house is cool)

Another Scorcher

It was an delight to throw down at the first of many (fingers crossed) Nectar Festival on their Friday Night. 

Here were have the next in my "Stick to Your Guns' series. It has been a while since I posted, but I found this set to fit the STYG perfectly. 

STYG is all about roots for me. Its how it started and its how it will continue on. So where are my roots as AppleCat? What aspects have stayed with me despite interchanging styles? What gives me that unique tingle when I hear it?

Multi cultural sounds, deep fairytale bass, erotic undertones, Classical/Cinematic beauty, rebellion, nostalgia, - and of course that motherfucking cosmic carnal dubstep. My intention is to create and share a mystical and primal underworld  journey through dance - then, to have us all come out the other side moved in some way. Myself Included. As such every so often, I craft a "Stick to your Guns" to remind myself -and anchor me- where I know my creative alignments are strongest.

I'm happy to share my Coma Dose Sunrise Set from Deep Roots Festival last month. Had an awesome time at my first Deep Roots, connected with some great artists and heard some of the best bass music a guy could ask for.

This is my second live Coma Dose festival sunrise set and it's been a real treat getting to take this project to the bass bins after so many years. Deep Roots 2025 - Coma Dose Sunrise

Absolutely honoured to have the opportunity to warm up the system at the Grove stage on the last day of the rave. I had many emotions leading up to and during this set. Life hasn't been easy but it's all been worth it. Thank you to every one of you that have influenced or inspired me on this wild ride. 

The set starts downtempo and builds energy throughout - a slow build of melodic and worldly sounds to loosen and connect with the body, searching for peace and healing in this calamitous world.
