Part three in Alden Tyrell's latest project: "Vorm Variaties", a 5 release series consisting of tracks recorded in the last 2 years. The "Vorm Variaties" tracks were a "Style Excercise" for Tyrell, flexing his producermuscle while health issues forced him to stop touring. Initially he had no intention to release these tracks but we found them so good that we were almost forced to start this series. All tracks selected are variations on classic techno forms, using classic style ingredients and the 909. All 5 "Variaties" are different in style, yet all homogenous, all with Alden Tyrell's sound signature... on point production skills and stripped down arrangements.

Expect chemical influenced electro, acid and house.

Mental health is an issue very close to our hearts at Hilltown Disco and we are excited to finally announce the launch of our Angel Series on bandcamp where every penny made on the release will be donated to Dundee-based project, Art Angel, with release date at the start of 2019.

Art Angel is a unique and inspired arts project run by and for people with experience of mental health difficulties in Dundee. Providing a range of high quality creative opportunities helping people to work towards recovery and mental well being. Art Angel is a person-centred project which treats each participant as an individual with his or her own talents and ability.

We have tracks for the first release from YUYAY Records boss and Leipzig based Robyrt Hecht & CC9185, our trusted French warriors, Crossmods, acid-master, Steven Simpson, collective member, J Wax with Boychii and the return of Hilltown-local, Ansata.

Snack Atoms appears as EABE’s latest signing with a bombardment of uptempo electro rollers. The EP is based on live performances in Helsinki’s Kaiku and Leipzig’s Distillery, creating a pleasantly coherent trip through the four tracks.
The title cut sets the pace with a bouncy beat and a driving bassline joined by wistful synths, topped off with a catchy lead as the powerful track picks up to full throttle – like a maglev train gliding through a neon-lit cityscape, raindrops in the window turning quick into colourful traces. The rest expands on the expertly conceived formula, drawing from elements of dub, trance and contemporary bass music. Not much is known about the protagonist who prefers to travel in the shadows, but the effortless craftmanship and penchant for melody shown here suggest they’ve been lurking in the underground for some time already.
