Illusions of Power is about political corruption, the collapse and seizure of control, sparring nations, war, drugs, gangs and the fraudulent, media systems that spin it all into rolling, fear-mongering 24 hour loops. Illusions of Power is about the horrors of the modern world and a humanity haunted by its bloodied past. But as every long dark tunnel comes to an end, Illusions of Power too has its glimmers of hope.

Written with an arsenal of hardware gear from the Londoner’s studio in Berlin, Dax J’s Electric Deluxe debut is a militant, yet atmospherical dancefloor assault. As he has proven over a slew of EPs for EarToGround Records and labels like LDNWHT, Deeply Rooted, Clergy and his own Monnom Black label, his sound is a compelling and thoroughly contemporary one. Dax J’s productions are typically mercurial, informed by the past and fortified with a wide range of influences from acid and ambient, to jungle and drum & bass. His EPs are rich, kaleidoscopic ventures involving an array of tempos and moods, and Illusions of Power is no different.

In “Reign Of Terror” and “Harry The Hatchet” on the A-side, and “Zulu Nation” and “The Quest” on the flip, Dax J flexes sinewy techno muscle in his rave-inciting idiom where the new and the oldschool collide. Then in the angst-ridden “Cartagena Square” (built around field recordings from Cartagena in South America) and dreamy breakbeats of “Breaking Visions” Illusions of Power present two very different diversions from the dance. In one there is light and a sense of relief; in the other, shadowy omens of the world are massing. The future is full of promise, but be on your guard.

Bionic Romance EP is Anetha’s second release on Blocaus series following 2017's very successful Leftover Love EP. Once again, Anetha continues to play to her strengths and delivers four tracks - diverse and rich in the depth, texture and hypnotism of techno deep space explorations. On the A-Side, ‘Myiuki & Patrizia’ starts the release as an intricate, atmospheric title track with warm synth lines ; ‘Ultra Speed Dating’ features a muscular four-to-the-floor beat and a perpetual stomp to devastating effect perfect for peak-time. On the B-Side, ‘Silicon Desire’ takes us in a slightly melancholic direction with its hypnotic pulses. ‘Virtual Ritual’ closes the EP as no nonsense purified techno with a raw groove. "Looking at recent global events we simply can’t stay quiet. Electronic music was born within communities of Queer, Black and Latinx poeple. Having been started by people of colour to create spaces of expression and community, techno as a genre has a responsibility towards its Black heritage. It’s time to live up to this. 

U4E - United For Equity  is a platform that aims to promote equity among artists. We want a future where Black representation is more than just a short-lived social media trend, we want to make it a reality. What better place to start than a compilation featuring Black and non-Black artists. 
With “MELT THE POT“ we bring together music from around the globe to raise awareness and funds for a shared cause. Leaving it open for future collaborations.
We come together as allies, as activists and a music-based community. Systemic racism is a reality, police brutality is a reality, lack of justice is a reality, and we‘re standing with the victims of this sickening system. 

Nevertheless, privilege allows white artists access to exposure, capital and audience within the scene that is denied to Black people. The music industry like the rest of society is biased and bolsters structural racism. Inevitably, that creates a systemic injustice we as artists have to address together. White artists have to start using their privilege, elevating Black voices and making music a place where exchange and education can take place. 
 
All revenue from the compilation will be divided between two projects: The Bail Project is a critical tool to prevent incarceration and combat racial and economic disparities in the bail system in the US. The other half will go directly to Black Lives Matter, the organization at the forefront of what is happening right now globally.
