Our guest for this episode is Sedate - DJ and beginning promoter based in Katowice, Poland.

Member of Module collective. Although he's been active only as recently as 2021, his interest and fascination by electronic music started somewhere around 2014 with the first discoveries of industrial and ambient music. His priorities in the composition of a set are based on merging individual expression, awareness of his role in the lineup and willingness to keep the event stylistically consistent. He can usually be heard in CEL, however, he scored performances in other prominent Polish venues and cities (Kraków, Warszawa, Wrocław) and recently - live stream in Berlin-based Pattern.Berlin.

So far he shared stage with artists like Klangkuenstler, Blazej Malinowski, DJ TOOL, HGR aka Hintergrundrauschen, Penera, Deas, Anja Kraft and PAWEL to name a few. He's the co-host of Before 0 event series organized in CEL.

Keepsakes, the moniker of British-born, New Zealand-residing producer and DJ James Barrett, has been going from strength to strength in the murky world of techno in the past few years. With EPs pressed to wax on Ansome and Ossian’s South London Analogue Material and Germany’s Mindcut, and 2 European tours under his belt in just the past 12 months, Keepsakes has been working hard to bring his unique and gritty sound from the shores of the South Pacific to the spangled masses in Europe.

BIO:
NX1 came in with strength into the international techno scene with the release of their first record on their label at the end of 2011. NX1 01 was limited to 200 hand stamped white vinyl copies that reached the top sellers on the renowned Dutch distributor Clone.nl in just a few days. This, in turn, made them receive immediate support by heavy weights of the genre such as Surgeon and Marcel Dettman among many others.
Since then, the NX1 project has not stopped growing and evolving, with dozens of records behind them, they have continued to produce a wide range of material from which many big personalities in the scene have been feeding. Thanks to this the spotlights have been moving towards their releases and productions.
During this time, they've been asked to collaborate and contribute to the respective projects from artists like Terence Fixmer (Planete Rouge), Dax J (Monnom Black), Oscar Mulero (Pole Group), Svreca (Semántica), Developer (Modularz), AnD (Inner Surface Music) Bas Mooy (MORD) or Go Hiyama (Hue Helix) among many others. This has inevitably led them to gain recognition from the international press and catapulted them into a series of performances in clubs and events all over the world that allowed them to highlight their capabilities as producers and their ability on stage.
Their live sessions and sets display a wide variety of styles in techno. Dense drum loops, breaks, aggressive metals and fat basses that perform the most rhythmic and raw part of the genre with touches of IDM, industrial and electronic music from the 90s.
In 2017 they started Nexe Records as their main label, adding it to the already working NX1 label with which they started the project and that they keep up to date by editing only their own material.

Involved into the techno scene, and passionned since her teenager age by the underground movement, Angel Karel owns a real philosophy of life fully connected with this culture.

Beside her venues and her music productions, Angel Karel is also an entrepreneur, actively supporting the Queer movement in France and the local techno Scene of Lyon, trying to show up women’s talent. Indeed, Angel Karel is considering Techno music as a mean of resistance, and as a way to break social codes, to change mentalities and move into a general open-minded spirit, to open the society to get always more freedom.

This spirit of liberty has brought Angel Karel to create her own collective : The Future Is Female (TFIF), which is preaching values of tolerance and freedom of the underground universe, especially during the [NO GENDER] parties. [NO GENDER] is a full artistic project, an experience while the artists and the public are entering in a symbiotic relationship; a well-known project in France, that Angel Karel would like to expand out of the borders.

For this chapter I’ve the pleasure to introduce a great Spanish duo, good friends of mine and already part of our label HEX Recordings. Welcome to NX1.

The duo from Mallorca, now living in Barcelona, has a long and rewarded history as Techno artists. They played at Berghain, Tresor, Possession, Vault, Forte and last but not least at our latest HEX x Boiler Room Hard Dance night in Barcelona. I strongly recommend you to check this set of them from March 2020, right before the current lockdown.

As producers they have a very defined raw, tense, dark and textured sound. They were part of the second reference of HEX Recordings, where they remixed Conflict by VII Circle and I can name a few others relevant labels where they have release already which are Bite, Earwiggle, Semantica and Planete Rouge.
