On the 63RD edition of our blogcast, we proudly present Dutch based Dj and producer > Collé.

Definitely one of the most interesting and exciting mixes for this year, this one is a gem. A Dutch talent has been hiding in the studio and all of a sudden amazes us with a unique sound of his. Two upcoming massive releases on Bedouin's imprint, Truecolors, have been supported at their set at Burning Man 2017 and included in this mix. A melodic and moody mix injected with an extensive African groove vibe, enjoy this one.

Who is Collé?

Although Collé may seem to be a newcomer, his experience is most certainly not. With years of producing many different music styles, his involvement and interest in people and cultures, Collé is ready to bring his music to a next level. Sharing his unique sound, which has a lot of emotion and depth into it, feels like a new way of expressing himself through his music.

"Los temas que escuchan vienen de mi colección de discos y de cintas, desde el Archivo CAIFE, hasta el trabajo del musicólogo que más admiro, Chopin Thermes. Muchos de estos músicos son leyendas invisibles, escondidas, que sin embargo cambiaron el panorama musical de los andes. Muchos de ellos dejan una huella indeleble, enredada en la raíz de las cosas, pioneros que rompen las reglas e inspiran a las estrellas menos periféricas que siguen sus caminos y le muestran esa misma magia al mundo. Joyas regionales que son difíciles de encontrar, y en su mayor parte desconocidas. El Ecuador es así. un país de tesoros escondidos en la periferia, donde están a salvo de los cambios globalizantes, y de la cultura masiva. 

Quise armarles un viaje, empezando con un sueño ancestral, de la mano de Yaki Kandru, que luego emerge de los bosques, marimbas de rio, de los Chachis a los afros del chocó ecuatoriano, y va subiendo como un Juyungo hacia los paramos y se sumerge en la Cosmología de los andes ecuatoriales. Al llegar se observa la vista y se respira ese aire de montaña, y empezamos a bajar, entramos a los pueblos mestizos de la mano de las bandas. Nos acercamos a las ciudades, y a los instrumentos raros que llegan por los aeropuertos; Probamos el sabor andino. el humor, el diminutivo, el zig zag emocional de los andes: Marimba, Violín, Pallas, Rondador, Saxofón, y Moog. La música del ecuador es única, es desconocida, y le aporta una magia incompresible a mi vida. Sin duda alguna no hay nada que me alegre mas el día que un sanjuanito bien puesto. Son Notas del Corazón. Alegría Sublime; porque Siendo Triste Vivo Alegre. la vida sin horizontes planos.

"The tracks on this mixtape are from my own collection of vinyls and tapes and includes music from the CAIFE Archive and from the work of one of the ethnomusicologists that I most adore, Chopin Thermes. Many of these musicians are invisible legends that nevertheless changed the musical panorama of the andes. Many of the them left an incredible impact, pioneers that broke the rules and inspired the better known stars of the day to follow in their footprints and share this same magic with the world. These are regional gems that are difficult to find and, on the most part, unknown. This is Ecuador. A country of hidden treasures from the periphery, where they remain safeguarded from globalised changes and mass culture."
