" The Summer Sol compilation brings together a global family of like-minded producers, all striving to move hearts, minds, and bodies  with original music that draws from our ancestral past, and propels us into the future, without limitations or borders. Producers from over 14 different countries bring us 21 original songs, with lyrics from 7 different languages. 

Popular well known artists such as Canson, Dance Spirit, LUM, El Buho, Matanza, Hraach, and Alejandro Mosso,  alongside fresh new artists like Rodrigo Gallardo, Spaniol, Armen Miran, Niju, V i V i D, Florista, and Peter Power, blend naturally with Sol*Selectas artists such as Sabo, KMLN, Goldcap, and SAAND. 

The track list is a journey itself, going from South American mid tempo, to Shamanic downtempo, to Middle Eastern deep house, to Latin tribal house, to Playa tech, to Ambient cumbia dub. 

Each song represents the multicultural influences of the artists, and shows the diversity of the Sol Selectas sound.  

The artwork by Helia Jamali visualizes the themes of summer and sunshine together perfectly.  This compilation will be released on the 1st day of the Summer Solstice - June 21st. 2016. " 

We hope these songs bring you joy and happiness, invoking feelings of positivity on the dance floor, a sunset on the beach, or even an early morning sunrise in the desert.

Darb is the path, Darb is the route, and Darb is the road. Like the Silk Routes of the past, for thousands of years, Egyptians have taken to the Darb to get where they need to go. Whether it was a 3 month haul through the Sahara for trade, or a year long journey to secure food & water. We are all on one Darb or another, in constant flux and motion, from where we were, to where we are, then where we want to be.

Exciting Egyptian Electronic artists have teamed up on this compilation with 3 fresh tracks from the heart of the ever evolving music scene. Ahl El Maghna are the eternal "People of Song", while "Al Beat" is a classical Arabic ode to the Beat that keeps us all moving. "Tudan" can loosely translate to "Karma"; as you give, so shall you receive.

Here's the recording for my DJ set from July 2nd, 2017 at the Katerblau Kiosk, hands down my favorite place to play music in Berlin.  The whole venue is a wonderland of discovery, the staff is extremely kind and hospitable, and I don't think I've played for a more open minded crowd in all of Europe. Longer sets allows you to take your time and be patient with the music, and the mixing.  The slow building journey I had imagined in my mind, was possible to make a reality, and extra time allowed me to experiment as well. This was probably my favorite gig of my entire 2 month Summer Sol Europe Tour. I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I had creating it in the Kiosk.  Thanks to Mira, Britta, Martin, Claudia, Joyce, David, Brett, Toto, Sylvie, Dorin, any other friends I may have forgotten who were there, and especially to all you lovely dancers who joined me on this ride. About the Release:
Sol Selectas run by Sabo is a US label with a deep and melodic sound that fuses vibrant percussive grooves with a world music influence.

Taking samples from ethnic folk music and layering them over sequenced beats, the Sol Selectas style of house music is regularly supported by DJ’s all around the globe.

Multicultural, the label's roster of artists has included people from all four corners and featured track and remixes from the likes of UNER, Blond:ish, Acid Pauli, Nico Stojan and of course Sabo himself.

The latest Sol Selectas release is a collaboration between Sabo and Moroccan artist Amine K who before this release had featured on other labels such as Selador, Souvenir Music and Systematic Recordings.

Like all of Sabo’s releases this is heavenly influenced by his extensive world travels to experience different cultures, and this is reflected in its title “Tiniri” which means “Sahara” in the traditional Berber tribal language native to Morocco.

Also on the release is a remix from Matthias Meyer who’s highly sought after production skills have led to his impressive back of releases on labels including Anjunadeep, Saved Records, Bedrock, Watergate, Pets Recordings and Liebe*Detail.

Made during a studio session Marrakesh, the title track “Tiniri” opens with scene setting ambient sounds from the Medina. Recording the instruments and vocals specifically for this stunning cut of storytelling house music, the percussive energy and Arabic influence takes us on an audio journey of the hustle and bustle in one of Morocco’s biggest cities.

“Tiniri” is led by a prominent vocal recorded in Arabic, but for those who prefer to focus on the traditional Morocan instruments such as the Krake, Gembri, and Dharbouka which make up the core of its groove, there is also a dub version.

Matthias Meyer’s remix of “Tiniri” has a much more sequenced groove with a drum machine replacing some of the recorded percussion. He also adds his own synth melody that becomes the foundation for the original parts to be layered on top as ambient textures. Expertly programmed, this exquisite remix will no doubt be a firm favourite of DJ’s looking for a more refined version of the original.

Second of the two original cuts on the EP is "Amanar" that has tightly sequenced percussion layered under trumpets, which crackle like sand in the hot desert air. Building towards the main breakdown the track springs to life with a flamenco guitar with adds a vibrant sparkle to this majestic slice of deep house.
