Trommuþrællinn -  the Drum Slave

Newly signed to the label, Verveine will drop Antony, her latest EP in March 2015. Built on pop and techno influences, she cut her teeth collecting concerts, deepening and intensifying her universe and building ethereal compositions based on loops and thick sound layers.

After more than forty shows in 2014, her budding traits transformed into a different type of live experience, tinged by techno hues, which enabled her to raise her live sets to a new level, somewhere between traditional performance and radical clubbing experimentation.

Always radiating a mysterious aura, Verveine’s music takes her audience for a unsettling stroll through refined atmospheres, using her hypnotic voice to see it through her technoid maze. 

The four tracks off Antony are built upon moving gradually from the enigmatic, quasi-Lynchian "Premier" to the acid maelstrom of "Veine R #1". This is followed by three remixes from Alexander Robotnick, Stas and La Vie C'est Facile that brings Verveine even closer to the electronic universe she is particularly fond of.

Played one of my favorite-ever club sets to date, taking over the decks after legend Jerome Hill. It’s a simmering mix that leans into groovy leftfield techno with percussive elements, house and breaks — and a deep, transportive atmosphere. 〰️ 🌀🦋 Recorded on vinyl and digital.

A bit about the process: Parnassus is an event with no genre or stylistic constraints. They gave me complete trust to play my personal timeless gems, which allowed me to break free and tap fully into my selection in-the-moment rather than stick to one lane. I had many ideas while prepping, but no defined direction until I pressed play. I stayed the whole night, feeling out the flow before my set, reading the energy on the dancefloor, and letting intuition guide me.

It was a real treat to play from 4 to 6:30 AM in one of my favorite clubs, surrounded by good friends, as the sun began to rise — and to share some of the records that have shaped me over the years, plus some recent standout releases. 🌅

Hope enjoy listening as much as I did playing! Thankful to @mu_he for the invitation, had a blast 🩷 and to @carlog808 for the skillful mix mastering.
