 “Shake The Mind” encapsulates the sound of Clouded Vision Recordings, with a long awaited single from Matt Walsh, backed with a remix from Daniel Avery.

Alongside the Radio Edit, the title track is a 7-minute trip of late night acidic techno, with a nod to Matt’s new wave and EBM influences.  The double A-sided vinyl is completed with a pounding slice of atmospheric techno and the first new piece of music from Daniel Avery, since the release of his critically acclaimed album, “Drone Logic” last year.

Dan returns the remix-favour to close friend Matt after his version of “ Free Floating” appeared on the Drone Logic Remix album “ New Energy” earlier this year.

The first release of 2016 comes from up and coming UK producer Jo Howard, AKA Bird Of Paradise.  Jo burst onto the scene in 2015 with releases on Correspondant, HAKT, Throne of Blood, Join Our Club & Multi Culti to name just a few.

Like all artists from the label, Jo comes from a wide background of music, raised on a steady diet of punk/post punk, and learning to play guitar like his father from an early age defines his way of arranging music.  His eclectic taste and tendency to veer away from the norm is typically Clouded Vision and we welcome him to the label with open arms.

After a year’s studio hiatus the Eskimo Twins have returned, fired up their moog and 303, and produced music a little outside their trademark sound.  
Je M'Ennuie is a slow motion electro workout, aided by a sultry French vocal from NEIN newcomer, Justine.  Remixes come from Mikron, fresh from their fantastic mini-album release on Central Processing Unit and LVL 2 favourite, Pete Callard.  Second track “Capital Emocional” bridges the gap perfectly from the twins last release on CV and sees them in forward-thinking acid house mode.

Lifelong friends Timothy Clerkin (Heretic) and Nathan Liddle-Hulme also known as The Eskimo Twins, met as students at Leeds University. Sharing the same passion for clubbing, and an appreciation for all music genres including techno, house, indie, acid and even metal. It was inevitable that they would start producing music together.  Eskimo Twins released much music with support from bloggers, clubbers and fans alike, they earned a residency at Wax:on, performed in Ibiza and at endless festivals, and an exclusive slot on Radio 1 guest mix.  Investing any free time in their South London studio crammed of vintage synths. This encouraged the duo to tighten up and focus their sound, inspiring them to release a subsequent succession of further eps and remixes, which were then released on various record labels. The Eskimo Twins gained a new solid following of fans, and champions included none other than cult pioneer, Andrew Weatherall who has been a constant support of their productions, so much so that he invited them to play at his notorious underground party, the cosmic, A Love From Outer Space. www.eskimotwins.com
French producer, singer and songwriter Justine, is a talented vocalist mostly influenced by new wave, cold wave, post punk, industrial sounds and 80s music.  She’s A Freaks, remixed by Egyptian Lover, and I Don’t Care were her two debut releases on independent record label Nein Records.  Le Voyage, a track featured on compilation album, Female Wave, was released through Emerald and Doreen Recordings.  Justine produces and directs her own videos, and guests on many tracks including Tronik Youth, Heretic and Eskimo Twins.  This female artist is one half of Permanent Wave, a band formed with Tronik Youth.

London based DJ and producer Matt Walsh is the brains behind Clouded Vision Recordings. The label launched in 2009, and has since received critical acclaim by pioneering talent across the globe.  The music releases have boasted the likes of Stratowerx, In Fields, Moralez, Bird Of Paradise, Eskimo Twins, Justin Robertson, Remain, Dark Strands, Few Nolder, Remote, Markus Gibb, Morgan Hammer and Matt himself.  Although Matt’s DJing and productions commenced in the 1990s, it was the Electroclash genre during the golden era with DJ Hell, Gigolo Records, Tiga, Turbo Recordings, City Rockers, Return To New York, Nag Nag Nag, Trash when he developed his unique trademark sound; modern disco infused electronic house and techno. Matt was later spotted by Tiga, and then secured his DJ residency at Bugged Out.  Walsh has released his own music on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, Ivan Smagghe’s Kill The DJ, Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound as well as Clouded Vision Recordings.

The first Clouded Vision Recordings release of 2018 comes from label newcomer Paul Fawcett, AKA Tecwaa, a DJ and musician from York with influences from the rave scenes of Leeds and North Yorkshire, Detroit Techno & Film Scores.

The four tracks were recorded with analogue instruments, layered percussion, guitars and piano, creating spaced out soundscapes that capture a hypnotic & emotive element throughout, with awash of delayed pads & eerie instrumentals. 

On remix duty label owner Matt Walsh brings the tempo of the first track “Always & The End” up a notch, adding a new bass guitar line and a plethora of warped sounds & broken percussion.

Eskimo Twins Bio

Since meeting as students in Leeds, these two friends have shared their passion for music. The pair immersed themselves in the city’s clubbing and live music scenes and after discovering a mutual appreciation of Techno, Classic House, Indie, Acid and a lingering teenage love of Metal; they began making music together. 

Early demos generated murmurs of approval amongst bloggers, clubbers, open-minded members of the indie glitterati and earned them a residency at the one of the UK’s most prominent club nights, Wax:On. Shows in the UK and Europe followed along with 2 original EP’s and remixes which won them the support of fans and landed them a guest mix spot on Radio 1. 

Summers spend darting back and forth between English festivals and Ibiza residencies were paired with winters spend in a dark studio full of old synths. Those long days helped tighten and focus their sound producing a 3rd EP and a host of remixes for artists including People Get Real, Jon Dasilva, Twin Sister, Everything Everything, Justin Robertson, Dengue Fever, Peaking Lights and Vosper and Bozzwell.

The Twins have continued to focus on their efforts in the studio in conjunction with DJing and have a number of original EP’s and remixes scheduled for release in the coming months of 2013.

Markus Gibb is a young French sound designer and DJ/producer from Montpellier. Classically educated Markus made his first steps into rock music as a guitarist and soon began to use his influences in combining Post Punk, New Wave and Indie with a well-pronounced techno touch.   The result brings deep and groovy basslines, heavy beats and howling psychedelic acid sounds.

Remixes come from the Dutch analogue maestro Drvg Cvltvre, Los Angeles Machine Limited pairing Split Secs and nu-French starlets Club Bizarre.

Matt Walsh’s Clouded Vision Recordings presents their biggest EP to date with two peak time tracks from one of the figureheads of the French electronic scene. Backed with remixes from the label owner himself alongside Get Physical regular and head of Lithuania’s “Best Kept Secret”, Vidis.

Remote’s first release partnering Jennifer Cardini in 2005 as “Jenny Goes Dirty” warmly welcomed them to France’s label of the moment, “Kill The Dj”. The EP included a cover of the classic ‘Amoureux Solitaire’ and was picked up by the cream of the electro & techno crop including Tiga, James Holden, Tiefschwarz, Chloe & Ivan Smagghe. The duo have since recorded on an array of French imprints including Meant, Fondation, Tigersushi and Gesaffelstein’s “Zone”.

The A-side, Alcyone, is highlighted by an infectious synth hook blended with a powerful bass-line to create the most unique and stand-out record Clouded Vision Recordings have released.  The second track, “Talk” is more of a jacking house affair, yet still full of John Carpenter infused melodies that build throughout it’s 9 minute existence.

With Matt’s most recent original material released on Kill The DJ, a remix from the label owner paved way for a perfect fit.  He lowers the tempo and adds a rolling 303 acid line to craft a late night groove, perfect for the more discerning floors.  Fresh from releases on “Get Physical” with production partner Mario Basanov, Vidis opts for a homage to French new wave by giving “Talk” an abundance of funk and sex appeal.

After releasing one of the biggest remixes on the label so far, Lithuanian producer Few Nolder is back with a full length EP, backed with a remix from East London’s new kid on the block, Kiwi.

Few Nolder first caught Matt Walsh’s attention in 2009 with a debut album released on Mike Paradinas’ highly regarded Planet Mu.  He has since joined the Silence Family, a music label, event promotion and artist agency founded by Vidis of Mario and Vidis fame, for bringing together luminaries of Lithuanian Electronica. 

The title track “Female Techno” sums up his EP on Clouded Vision. Dark, minimal synths and growling basslines, yet still with a plethora of sex appeal and dancefloor funk.  

Kiwi raises the tempo by adding an arms aloft breakdown and some crackling chords that have an instant effect.

With one of the most respected careers in modern DJ’ing and production, it is an absolute honour to welcome Justin Robertson to the Clouded Vision Recordings roster.

The Confluence Of Torrents EP sees JR in his darkest and weirdest for quite some time, providing 5 tracks of mid tempo, acidic techno.  

The title track oozes emotion with a “hairs on the back of the neck” high-ended repetitive synth and sets the tone for the duration of the EP.  “No Time To Sleep” and “Plotting An Orbit” follow suit incorporating warped vocal samples with jacking primal rhythms.

Clouded Vision’s latest French connection comes from a new pairing based in Marseille.  With both already honcho’s of their own labels, IRM records and The Exquisite Pain Recordings, daWad & Mokic now follow up their debut on Nein Records with a pair of acidic, slow motion floor fillers for CV.

Remixes come from one half of ALFOS and fantastic DJ in his own right, Sean Johnston, aka Hardway Bros and Mexican duo Max Jones and Mijo.  Both take “Spooks” in a different direction, with Sean turning the EBM level to plus 8 and the latter adding their signature Mexican groove.

 “Shake The Mind” encapsulates the sound of Clouded Vision Recordings, with a long awaited single from Matt Walsh, backed with a remix from Daniel Avery.

Alongside the Radio Edit, the title track is a 7-minute trip of late night acidic techno, with a nod to Matt’s new wave and EBM influences.  The double A-sided vinyl is completed with a pounding slice of atmospheric techno and the first new piece of music from Daniel Avery, since the release of his critically acclaimed album, “Drone Logic” last year.

Dan returns the remix-favour to close friend Matt after his version of “ Free Floating” appeared on the Drone Logic Remix album “ New Energy” earlier this year.

"Shake That!" is a song by German band Scooter.  Shake the Mind however is a far superior track by Matt Walsh. It is by all accounts a bit of a belter. 

Matt Walsh has been lurking in our ears for many a year now. We're massive fans of his consistently and increasingly excellent Clouded Vision label. So much so he was one of our early Label Love-ees. With this new release though we think he's really hit on something rather special. 

Mr Daniel Avery has turned in a remix on the flip of this double A-Side but our vote sits firmly in the Original camp on this one... good job he's been so kind as to premiere it really isn't it?

PREMIERE: Matt Walsh - Shake The Mind - Clouded Vision

​About a year ago we had Clouded Vision boss Matt Walsh go In Session for us. What he delivered was an hour of wriggly and writhing techno cuts, with Locked Groove, Daniel Avery and Ripperton all included. 

The mix itself was in a similar vein to the Bugged Out! associate's own tracks and remixes, whether it's 2010's 'Honey Comb' on Wax:On Music or his rejig of Daniel Avery's 'Free Floating'.

In Fields are Ed Cox and Raoul Marks from London.  Hot on the heels of their recent LP on Parisian label “Desire” is their first EP on Clouded Vision, after appearing on Matt Walsh’s second mixed compilation, “LVL 2”.
The four original tracks are their most dancefloor - orientated so far, with enough size to make you want to dance and enough oddness to make you want to stop. They build throughout, creating tension over time, whilst rocking like the feeling of a bike chain slipping.

When I first found Sébastien’s music on Soundcloud about 18 months ago, I knew I had struck gold.  He sent me “Ana” to try out and it became my most played record of 2012. It was released as part of CLOUDED 010 – The Clouded Vision Experiment, which has since received critical acclaim from across the globe.

Upon asking him for more tracks throughout the latter part of 2012, he became prolific at catering to my tastes.  The title track from his debut EP, “Freaking Slowly” has become my most sought after secret weapon from a number of DJ’s, bloggers and dancers.  

Based in the south of France, Sébastien has been a resident DJ at the Bindy Club in Pau, where he has played alongside some of the most renowned artists of the French scene, including Chloé, Ivan Smagghe and Jennifer Cardini.  

Sébastien has developed a sound that is melodic, powerful and elegant.  Each track builds into a crescendo, without ever needing to be forceful or abrasive.  I wanted one remix, something totally different and the one act I had in mind was Red Axes.  I met them both recently in Tel Aviv and we talked about remixes for the label and they soon came up trumps.  By re-playing the entire track with live drums and guitars, Red Axes and have turned “Ana” into a low-slung techno-rockabilly dance floor gem.
