The new live set from the Before The Curfew series, played by VH10 at Ground Floor on 19th November at the ∄ 4th Anniversary, is now available on SoundCloud.

VH10 is a Kyiv-based musician, producer, and live performer originally from the Donetsk region. Starting his musical journey with performances at Club 56, one of the first new venues after the Revolution of Dignity, the artist never stopped shaping his style, experimenting with sounds ranging from old-school to contemporary trance, progressive house, and breakbeat.

Before the Curfew is a series of music podcasts that emerged in 2022 after the reopening of the club following the liberation of the Kyiv region. All recordings presented in this series take place before midnight before the curfew begins. Before the Curfew offers a vibrant snapshot of the Ukrainian music scene amidst challenging times, celebrating resilience, creativity, and unity through music.

Усі записи, представлені у цій серії, проводяться до півночі, перед початком комендантської години. Before the Curfew — це відображення сучасної української музичної сцени в умовах викликів, що стоять перед нею.

Oleksa discovered & started to explore the world of electronic music back in 2018 when first attended the Brave Factory festival. That pushed him into checking all of Kyiv's independent clubs (in addition - some of Tbilisi & Berlin ones). It was also during the same time that Oleksa dived into exploring the process of dancing and how music interacts with human's body: how it affects us, and how it works.

Oleksa dived into djing in 2023 starting with courses at Kultura Zvuku and then collecting tracks for his own collection. Currently, Oleksa is in his genre-exploring stage, so there's no certain or primary genre as the collection is growing in breadth and distance and transforming over times. Nevertheless, disco so far has probably the biggest impact on him. It’s the first genre which groove his body responded to, and it was at disco music parties that he first began to dance freely.

Moreover, disco is the type of music that provokes the greatest explosion of positive emotions for Oleksa: "Disco's a synonymous to total joy and happiness on the dance floor for me, so it holds a very special place in my collection. Therefore, in this mix, I wanted to offer a driving, non-stop dance vibe, with just a few small breaks to take a breath."
