CLOUDS008: Mike Momburg - Essence (Remixes)

@flokeclouds is another in-house artist who did not hesitate after we asked him if he wanted to contribute a remix to the original „In Chains“ single.
He managed to transform the original more into his style by adding a driving bassline supplemented with a groovy arp and some selectively placed brass shots. Especially the chord variation of the lead melody is probably most typical for him.

Besides the Original Mix we have two artists who contributed their interpretation of „In Chains“. One of the artists we could fire up for this project is @rengs_ofc. He added some progressive elements and gave the track a touch of his style. The deep groove combined with the static synth-line should get you into a summer mood. We are really happy to have him on board as an in-house artist and we are looking forward to his upcoming EP on Clouds Records by the end of this year.

The track "In Chains" by @tonterrasse is a dark melodic interpretation of being imprisoned. A heavy bassline that evolves throughout the track creates the foundation for the melodic elements. The vocals by @natalievog increase the dark atmosphere and match beautifully with the other components in the song.

"Floating On Clouds" is full of contrast. While the heavy kick and bassline grounds you to earth, the analog synthesizer ascends you right up to the clouds. A dynamic chord progression frames the melancholic creation. The curtain falls with the onset of the rain pipe. A pulsating pad is revealed and creates a state of levitation.

"String Of Heart" is an invitation to refocus on the positive. The organic foundation is formed by self-recorded guitars that create a dreamy atmosphere. Through a vibrant mix of warm bassy power and high energy pads the listener resolves in the bright colours of dawn.

Urania picks up on the previous feeling and expands the energy level with a driving 16th bassline. Merging synthesizers, slamming drums and pulsating arpeggios define the soundscape. An unexpected B-part leads into an energetic drop. Urania has been on the list for a long time and has always been always a secret weapon in their sets.

Floke drops his first own EP "Lucid Dream" on Clouds Records. The three original tracks tell a story about consciousness and subconsciousness. As the line between the two becomes increasingly blurred they merge and become one in the end. Floke takes his listeners to the border of subconscious with spherical sounds, driving beats and his characteristic melodies. The vocals are about the dynamic interplay of truth, deception, and reality.
