woke this morning just a quarter past seven,

dropped the coffee I just poured

the minimum wage worker

when we are “well on our way to forgetting”
I’ll still be stocking the fire of obsession
the smokes been sticking to my hair

I can’t get it out
not shampoo nor chlorine
there is no amount
to drown out the smell
