Roland Tings is the energy alchemist behind the next beat connection on Club Mod, Modular’s booming baby brother. The prolific Australian producer will release his new single, Tomita’s Basement/Cagean Sea, on August 13.

Tomita’s Basement was made in Tomita’s basement in Berlin, a propulsive modular synth workout from far below the surface that in a roundabout way pays tribute to 
Japanese composer Yann Tomita, and Junior Boys’ Jeremy Greenspan plunges even further into the abyss on his take. Cagean Sea comes up for air, a more blissful affair of azure dancefloor melancholy, and Future Times’ Maxmillion Dunbar turns it into a percussive, stutterfunk workout.

London-based Sharooz has been producing various strains of house and techno for the last 8 years, making choice drops on a variety of labels and pushing his sound in several different directions before finally arriving here with us at Club Mod. Sharooz’s Club Mod EP consists of three original tunes - Rouge, Astre and Krone - plus remixes of Rouge and Astre by NYC youngster Aguila and NYC mainstay and L.I.E.S. quarterback Marcos Cabral respectively. The release sees Sharooz at his menacing, mechanical best, three tracks of engaging, post-apocalyptic house music, plus a old school jacking vamp of Rouge by Aguila and the suitably titled « Marcos Cabral Trance Mix » of Astre.

Following a string of vibe building mixtapes and free downloads, Black Vanilla gear up for their first official release on Club Mod, an EP entitled "Cloaks".

Black Vanilla are the trio of Marcus Whale (one half of online exchange Collarbones and the wonderfully experimental Scissor Lock), Lavurn Lee (aka neo-soulist Guerre and atmospheric techno producer Cassius Select) and Jarred Beeler (DJ Plead).

Boot-rattling deconstructed garage productions with dual vocal chemistry, Black Vanilla are masters of their domain: high-energy, sensual and sweaty.

Features remixes from Brooklyn-based shapeshifter FaltyDL and Fade To Mind drill sergeants MikeQ and DJ Slink.

"Cloaks" is to be released digitally on November 21.
