7/8に「Phenomenal Handclap Band-The Right One」のTokyo Black Star NYC remixが「Tummy Touch」というレーベルからリリースしたばかりで、8月中旬にロンドンのレーベル「claremont 56」からコンピレーション「Originals vol.10 compiled by Alex from Tokyo」をリリースします。
またファッションブランドの「Y-3」の10周年記念の音楽企画の限定ボックス・セットをディレクションしました。8/20から9/1まで日本でツアーをやります。

~ This live set was recorded at Goethe Institut, Kolkata on April 2023 during their ambient music workshop ~

Marja Burchard is a composer, performer, artist and multi-instrumentalist. She was born as the only daughter of Christian Burchard, the founder of the music band Embryo. Having born and raised within the band, she has taken the role of leading the band herself since the death of her father in 2018. She has toured with Embryo in several countries around the world, including Japan, Morocco, Turkey, England, India etc. After studying ethnology, Slavic philology and musicology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Marja devoted herself solely to music. Since the age of nineteen until now she has been playing and composing in other bands like: Karl Hektor and the Malcouns, Radio Citizen, Karaba, Express Brass Band, World Wide Wig, Séferia and Jisr. Since 2018, she has been composing music for plays such as "Shush" by Eszter Tompa at Teatrul Gong in Sibiu (Romania), "Kill the Audience" by Rabih Mroué at the Kammerspiele in Munich, at the puppet theatre "Theater Ananas" in Munich, as well as for the street theatre AntagonTheateraktion from Frankfurt am Main, with which she has performed at various international theatre festivals such as in Brazil, Siberia, Romania, etc. Since 2015 she has been working with the Finnish dancer Anna Orkolainen, with whom she has developed, composed and performed many pieces such as "Die Regentrude", "Spiderweb", Porotanssi" or "der letzte Seraphim". She lives and works in Munich. Apart from being a singer she plays several instruments like the vibraphone, piano, organ, accordion, trombone, santoor, marimba, drums and percussion instruments.

Polygonia represents a multidisciplinary music and art project conceived by Lindsey Wang from Munich, Germany. The soundscape of her own productions conveys a mystical, organic character and is characterized by driving complex rhythms. Polygonia’s sound palette ranges from energetic, dark deep techno to downtempo, grey area to textural and/or harmonic ambient. In addition, motifs from nature play a major role in many of her productions. Her DJ and live sets are characterized by a hypnotizing effect that invites one to completely lose oneself in the complex world of sounds for a longer period of time. Polygonia has already visited numerous of international prestigious venues. She is now a regular at Tresor or Berghain in Berlin, Blitz or Rote Sonne in Munich to name a few. Together with the artists Dycide and MTRL, she established her collective and label IO in 2018. In 2021, Polygonia launched the collaborative band project Lyder with the musicians Niklas Bühler and Moritz Stahl, focusing on the fusion of jazz and electronic music. In July 2022, she founded her own label QEONE. In addition, she manages the premiere and podcast platform Hadal Resonance.

Archives, a new series presenting the sound of DJs and artists at Moment events, is proud bring you our third installment. For this episode we present a live set by Dutch artist Shoal, performed at the Moment festival last July.
This set has Shoal blending layer upon layer of organic synths and smooth and cozy beats, guiding the listener forward through an experience that is both meditative and hypnotic. Shoal mastered the set himself, so we’re delighted to bring you the most ideal version of the performance. Sit back, listen, and drift away.

Lisa is a Tokyo-based Japanese DJ who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of the techno and psychedelic music scenes both in Japan and Europe. She uses hypnotic techno music to access the subconsciousness of her audience, believing that music has a great power to positively affect their lives. Lisa's sets are characterized by their experimental elements and flow, which seek to take listeners on a higher journey. Her sound is influenced by past greats from a variety of genres, including her own philosophy of life. With her unique approach, listeners can expect to experience something fresh each time.

She started DJ career in 2022, performing at outdoor festivals, and actively DJing abroad with the aim of doing Japan's underground culture to the world, she  started her own event "Resonance" and welcomed artists who sustained underground electronic music scene.

The 51st episode of vurt podcast features a 70-minute live-recording DJ set from DJ Sodeyama, a key DJ/producer in the Tokyo electronic scene from the 90s to the present. The set was recorded last October at Club Womb in Tokyo.

"Sodeyama's artisanal approach to the decks and meticulously crafted sets explain why he has long been a unique force in the Japanese club scene. Sodeyama has been one of Japan's top techno DJs for the past two decades, with numerous releases on important electronic labels around the world, such as Arpa Records, Moph Record, трип, Dynamic Reflection, Konstrukt, illegal alien, and more. He has also released full-length albums through his projects called LO: BLOC and THE PEOPLE IN FOG covering a wide range including ambient, downtempo, minimal, and electronica - FROM NORTHERN CLIMS (2009), A RAY OF LIGHT (2013), and 1977 (2021). Born in London & having lived in Bristol, James Laing aka Night Garden draws from the sounds of those two cities, alongside musical knowledge gained during his classical compositional training. With releases on Melifera, Bahn & most recently Breatice M's hybrid Dubstep label, Bait, Night Garden aims to create richly psychedelic & hypnotic pieces which combine modern sound design with classical theoretical concepts. 
Night Garden is a musical project embodying an imagined space between our conscious reality & the world of dreams. It is a liminal point in space & time; a home to drifting forms & sounds unknown. Suspended in a twilight haze, its nebulous inhabitants float into distant obscurities, shedding ephemeral traces from their transient skin.

With two major milestones upon us today, we're fortunate enough to be celebrating with one of the finest in electronic music. A new year is upon us and today we also reach a major podcast milestone, to celebrate we welcome none other than contemporary techno legend, DJ Nobu for MNMT 400.

With decades of experience and as founder of both acclaimed party ‘Future Terror’ and record label ‘Bitta’, DJ Nobu has slowly but surely turned from being one of Japan's finest, to one of the world’s most in demand selectors. A great friend of Monument who delivered an incredible closing set at our first ever Monument City Festival in 2023, we couldn’t be happier to be marking the occasion with him. 

For this very special mix Nobu presents a stunning introspective excursion through electronica and deeper shades to celebrate the two milestones.
