To celebrate 20 years of building Labyrinths, we have decided to release one set from each of the last ten years. I've chosen ten timeless moments that both document the history of the event and provide a historical snapshot of underground electronic music over the past ten years.

We have chosen a broad range--from closing techno sets, to morning ambient sets, to experimental sets to close the night. Each set represents a different side of the event. Taken together, they present a portrait of a decade of music.

The Labyrinthの20周年を記念して、過去10年間を振り返り、それぞれの年からひとつのミックスをピックアップすることにしました。イベントの歴史を記録すると同時に、過去10年間のアンダーグラウンドエレクトロニックミュージックの歴史的なスナップショットを提供します。今聞いても色褪せない、タイムレスな極上のミックスをお楽しみください。

テクノのクロージングセットから、朝のアンビエントセット、そして夜を締めくくるエクスペリメンタルセットまで幅広いセレクトですが、どのセットもThe Labyrinthの欠かせない側面を表しており、ここ10年におけるエレクトロニック ミュージックの全容とも言えるでしょう。

CARTER自身も精力的に楽曲制作にとりくんでおり、2002年にはオリジナル・アルバム『Squaredancing In A Roundhouse』を発表。ハウス・ミュージックが持つアブノーマルな雰囲気が充満した傑作となった。更に「Human League」など過去に手がけたリミックスをコンパイルした『Nearest Hits and Greatest Misses』、DLC名義以外での作品をコンパイルした『Tone Theory Vs Oneiro POVERTY DE LUXE』などをリリースしている。また、彼がアーティストとして1番好評を得ている点は特異的なDJミックスであり、Frankie Knuckles、Francois K.、Danny Tenaglia等が参加してハウス・シーンの注目を集めている『Choice - A Collection of Classics』や、世界最高峰のハウスレーベルであるDEFECTEDがシリーズ化しているミックスCD『HOUSE MASTERS』を手掛けた。シカゴ・ハウス黎明期の最重要DJ、Ron Hardyの影響を色濃く受けたDLCの変態かつ超絶なプレイは凄まじく、そして美しい。

- このミックスの収録場所を教えてください。 

これはヨーロッパのどこかでプレイした時のライブミックスだ。 どこでプレイしたものかは忘れてしまったけど、わりと最近のものだと思うよ。   
- 使用した機材を教えてください。 

恐らくCDJをメインに使用したと思う。 基本的にギグの際にはUSBとCDを持って行くんだ。 飛行機での移動が多いから、コンパクトで助かるよ。   
- このミックスの、コンセプトは何かありますか？ 

ライブミックスなので、「お客さんに楽しんでもらうコト」を心がけてプレイしていたはずだよ。

We invited the Zurich based artist live ensemble @regula-rec and chose their wonderful journey which they played in September 2023 for the @iorecs night at Kauz, Zurich. Their sound aesthetics are absolutely unique and precisely designed. Full of spicy grooves, filigree atmospheres and beautiful synth lines. 🎹 🎛️
The set was not recorded from the first second, around fifty minutes are missing. But the remaining 2 hours are so fantastic that we definitely wanted to share this with you 🌹
