MixMag Afters @ And Club

With ÖM around the corner I thought I would share the recording of this b2b with my homie Nic @ Mobb Tech & Friends! It was an absolute blast to share the booth with him and to put all this energy and into this mix! We decided to switch things up a bit at the last minute and started off the mix quite hard, with some breakers to close off with some disco. All in an attempt to wind the party down in the grooviest way possible. I really hope you enjoy!

Music for printers. 

It’s 20:00. The air has a bit of moisture, so the streets reflect the lights and the buildings on which it gives foundation. One building in particular has a long night ahead of itself. It’s a new office building so the smell of varnish and plaster lingers in the air, adding to the constant silence that envelops the many floors of the office.

The main lobby receptionist, Caroline, locked up the main door before greeting the night shift custodian, Ndumiso, bidding him a good night. Two hours pass, and after the drone of vacuum cleaning and floor polishing, Ndumiso packs up all his cleaning supplies and equipment. He always started with the mop, packed all the strong-smelling liquids, the brooms, then the electrical machinery, and ended with the broom. His mom always used to say, "Cleanliness is the wisdom of a mop and bucket."

After leaving the wet floor signs in the applicable places, Ndumiso left the office building through the underground parkade, making sure not to trample over the floors he had cleaned. All the lights are off, but this is when everything was to switch on.

This mix is the soundtrack to what I imagine office equipment would have a groove to. All the bleeps and boops with constant grooves make the printers, scanners, stationery, and all the regular things that you’d find in an office building, dance around the building. I imagine this mix as an opening set being played by one of the printers to get all the equipment in the mood for the night ahead, letting loose after a gruelling day of work.

This is the recording from my ToyToy Debut in the Garden! Grateful as fuck for the opportunity. The night started nice and warm but there as already quite the crowd from the beginning (shoutout to all the homies) so the start of this was all tension to just get everyone warm and then slowly pumping up the vibes!
