For this second release Soleil Rouge focuses its attention on Jonnnah, one of the key artists since the creation of the project. After a versatile first release on Worst, the artist continues his creative process in the same line. The sequence of atmospheres and landscapes on this album was conceived as a journey into the psyche, more specifically as an analysis of the depressive state and the healing process. Jonnnah recreates familiar feelings and memories and writes an abstract story to allow the listener to interpret. 

"Terra Incognita" introduces us through a phase of doubt and leads to a loss of orientation, then the feeling of anxiety is explored before arriving at "Sounds of Silence" where energies are transformed, the following landscapes allow a slow reconstruction to close this metaphorical journey with "Enter Paradise". “Poppy's Star” was co-produced with French artist Tryphème, whose work was a source of inspiration in the creation of Jonnnah's universe. The fusion of their sound results in a sentimental 80’s pop atmosphere, that is characterized by heavenly sounding delay processing as well as the melancholic voice of Trypheme. Throughout the quarantine, the artist and his father (also a musician) set up a daily artistic ritual in order to use this interlude to promote their common artistic creation, from this sharing was born the track “Young Man, Old Boy”. 
This album takes us through interludes of gritty noise, melancholic pop, avant-garde experimental music and powerful bass music. The artist treats each of these sounds with the same ethereal and melancholic layer creating a link between the atmospheres of his narrative.

This album marks the birth of the Jonnnah artistic entity, right down to the creation of a physical appearance conceived in collaboration with designer William Mora. The two artists worked together to create a series of masks that draw on intimate visuals from the history and culture of Jonnnah. The various masks were conceived as ritualistic costumes for the upcoming performances, participating in the creation of an alter ego between mysticism and chivalry.

Entering new territories of the physical realm, ANE returns with an EP and accompanying remix collection from @crosspolar

The Bristol-based artist harnesses the once hyperreal aesthetics of computer simulations from the 90s to early 00s in dreamlike odes to distorted cyberspace memories. This release comes as a limited edition of floppy disk packs containing two recycled disks, one of originals and one of variations.

An upbringing in Finland during the 90s serves as a catalyst for the inspirations for these sprawling, cinematic ambient tracks. Repurposed rompler instruments and high sheen sound design represent lost dreams of the future. Sugar sweet rave euphoria is met with icy desolation. Crosspolar plunders his childhood fascinations to create this not so uncanny valley: keygen music, click-to-discover online worlds, 90s television, and turn of the millennium tech. These tracks accelerate at blistering pace whilst always looking backwards.

CLUB CHAI is a record label, event series and curatorial project founded by 8ULENTINA and Lara Sarkissian (fka FOOZOOL) in Oakland, California. CLUB CHAI centers diasporic artists with the intention of carving out sounds and spaces that consider the ways we build narratives as a reflection of our current and future selves. We believe in the transformative abilities of storytelling through sound and honoring its creation of genres and movements for marginalized people throughout the history of electronic music. Through our label releases and projects we hope to contribute to this archive and history.
CLUB CHAI hosted regular events in Oakland and San Francisco while participating in an international network of artists and collaborators. CLUB CHAI held showcases in New York City and London, and have also presented at Unsound Festival Krakow (2019), Mexico City, Milan, and a UK tour in collaboration with TT label. The label hosted shows and streams on NTS radio, Rinse FM, Lower Grand Radio, and Boiler Room.
