On a very, very vague Sunday morning I met Hans & Rosa. Vague because I still can't remember if i met a couple or that it was actually 1 person. Or that it was a man with a feminine face or the other way around? all I remember is the forming of a deep connection as night turned into day. The more light that entered the room (or was it outside anyway), the more blurred my vision became as sunrays caressed my eyes. In confusion we trust. And we will continue to do so. Thank you Hans & Rosa for this amazing gift and the trip down blurry memory lane

That Escalated Slowly with Hans & Rosa

Recorded 1-3PM on 10 April 2021 

Sandwiched between two incredible live guitar/voice artists, my set unfortunately clashed with both the mens and womens circles, taking pretty much the entire party away from the dancefloor. 

Any initial disappointment I felt was completely washed away when the women's circle was moved inside to the end of the room I was playing in. Though I didn't have a dancefloor for my set, I could not have asked for a better audience. One of the most beautiful experiences I've had playing and it was a true gift to look up and see those sitting in circle meditating while I played, some dancing along with the tunes while they sat with closed eyes. 

Thank you to all who shared that moment - it's not often a man has an opportunity to participate in a women's circle without overhearing what's being said or influencing the energy of the space. Very grateful to have had this experience & much love to you all <3

Tiefenentspannt und gemütlich im Herbst angekommen, drehen wir heute unsere Runde mit Jasmin alias Pokka aus Leipzig. 

Sie lebt mittlerweile seit ca. 4 Jahren in der pulsierenden, von Diversität und Kreativität geprägten Stadt. Im So&so begann ihre DJ-Laufbahn―ein Ort, den die Leipziger Club-Landschaft heute leider vermissen muss. Jedoch wirkte sie ebenfalls in weiteren Bereichen der Club- und Festivalszene mit und bespielte auch bereits die Dancefloors einiger Open Air Veranstaltungen. Leicht wehmütig denken wir daher an das Event des Verbund Leipziger Kollektive (VAK) diesen Sommer zurück, währenddessen ein Teil unserer Crew die Freude hatte, sie kennen zu lernen. Seit kurzem ist sie nun auch selbst Teil des VAKs―ein Kollektiv, welches sich in der Leipziger Feierkultur vor allem durch seine waghalsigen Entwürfe von Utopien innerhalb unkommerzieller Räume einen Namen gemacht hat.

Passend hierzu hat sie ein Titelfoto für ihren Mix für uns gewählt, welches auf dem Nation of Gondwana Festival dieses Jahr entstanden ist. Wie sie beschreibt, fängt dieses das einzigartige Gefühl ein, endlich wieder ein Teil alternativer Welten werden zu können, die sich nach so langer Pause über eine besonders ausgelassene Energie entladen.

Musikalisch glänzt Pokka mit sehr unterschiedlichen Stilrichtungen: Von Downtempo über Hip Hop, Trip Hop, bis hin zu organisch-ethnischen Klängen ist alles dabei. Wichtig ist ihr dabei vor allem, dass der schwierige Spagat zwischen „deep-dark“, „gefühlvoll“ aber „nicht zu cheesy“ gelingt.

Gelungen, würden wir sagen! Ihr Set passt gerade perfekt in unsere Reihe―verspielt, gefühlvoll und dennoch gelassen, genau wie der leicht wehmütige Abschied aus dem Sommer.
