Over the last ten years, Gumm graduated from being an active promoter hosting renegade parties in obscure public spaces to performing at Melbourne's biggest festivals, including Let Them Eat Cake, Pitch Music & Arts and smalltown. As co-founder of Melbourne brand Darklove, he hosted international acts The Drifter and Damon Jee to go with regular bookings supporting Maceo Plex, DJ Koze, Jennifer Cardini, Stephan Bodzin, Job Jobse, Ben Klock, ANNA, Folamour, Mind Against and more.

Not only is he regular in Melbourne clubs (Revolver Upstairs, Bourke Street Courtyard and Glamorama to name a few), but recent performances at Melbourne's leading festivals earmarked him as an act for the bigger stage. At the end of 2020, he tasted his first interstate booking when he was flown to Byron Bay to headline a 2021 NYE event.

His recent debut single "Struck", released on Berlin-based Ombra International, the in-vogue label run by indie-dance maestro Curses, served as a crucial entry point into the global scene. The single is a highly infectious dance cut designed to suck you into its dark disco inferno, catching the attention of the underground scene's leading players. With his recent sold-out headline show selling over 500 tickets, Gumm is well situated to be at the Melbourne forefront of a new, compelling global sound with roots in genres like nu-wave, indie-dance and nu-disco. 

About The edit : " Sassafras (aka. Josh my housemate) and I were returning from buying groceries and he asked what I thought about editing Kim Wilde - You Keep Me Hangin' On. We had spoken about writing some music together so it was a perfect chance to have a play. Sass' love for the original was contagious and I soon became attached myself. The process was incredibly enjoyable and the result is now one of my favourite projects."

FREE CALL #12 : Kim Wilde - You Keep Me Hangin' On (Gumm Ft Sassafrass Edit)

A personal rework of one of my favorite classics ever, New Order's Blue Monday. 
I had mixed feelings the first time I heard it in some club. These dribbling bass drums were kind of weird to me. I couldn't really understand why people were mad when they recognized the track. Then, when I left, I realized the only melodies that were still around in my head were those of this pure classic. I started to listen to it and couldn't help but put it on hard rotation at home and in my studio. I became obsessed with it and even wanted to own the same hardware that was used to produce it (a few days later, I bought an Oberheim DX from some guy who claimed he signed with Virgin Records on the same day as Daft Punk). 
The original multitracks sessions are publicly available so I had to do something...so here we are. I wanted to give the track a more modern & Italo direction, while trying to respect the original vibe. 
Hope you'll enjoy it & spin it in front of passionate crowds. 
The artwork is a tribute to John Carpenter's Christine (1983), which was released a few months later.

Blue Monday (Karassimeon Festival Tool)

I’m back with a rework of another all-time cut, Pet Shop Boys’ It’s A Sin. 
As someone coming from Eastern Europe I’ve been a bit overexposed to Chris & Niel’s discography because of their Go West hit, which overflooded the region in the 90’s (though it was originally a Village People song, not related to the Cold War). 
Yet, as my previous cover (New Order’s Blue Monday), this song has been haunting me for years and I couldn’t help but do something with it. While trying to respect their original intent, I tried to give it a current sound. Once more, the original multitrack session files have been made available, which is a blessing. 
Enjoy it, download it, spin it to entertain your beloved audience. 
The cover art is inspired by John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness (1987), released the same year.

CYDA was born in April 17th, 1991 in Bandung Indonesia. He has a musician gene from his mother who works as Indonesian traditional singer (sinden). He began his musical career when he was in senior high school in 2007 and established a band specializing in chiptune genre.
Thenceforward, he and his musical genre were like a solid soulmate.
Musician, Arranger, Producer and DJ, his musical tastes are mostly Dark disco, italo disco, synthwave and house music.
He won several awards in the Indonesian electronic dance music industry ( 2017 producer of the year paranoia award, 2018 house dj of the year paranoia award), and promote some indonesian parties called " cyda and friends".
He released several ep and tracks  on label such as soulfooled ( alex niggemann's imprint) or Ritmo Fatale ( with the hit " Machine").
He now works also as Music Director.

About the edit :

This song really impressed me because it's my mother's favorite.  
I always remember when i was in elementary school in the 90s my mother always played this song in the morning  when i was getting ready for school. 
this has a very deep meaning for me, so i absolutely wanted to edit this track !

Nianova and Danny Domingo are colorful, loud and spacy. With their fancy outfits they look like they are from the future, but they leased the 80‘s and 90‘s for their style. Since 2018 they oscillate between Neo Italo Disco, Indie Dance & Italo Trance and combine retro with a modern twist. Their energizing sound is rolling basslines focused, with a love for shrill synths and lead them to many festivals like Fusion, Bucht der Träumer, Wilde Möhre, Burning Beach and Pavoia as well as renowned clubs such as Sisyphos, Ritter Butzke, KitKat, Pudel, Übel & Gefährlich and Odonien. While their productions were released by labels like Bordello a Parigi, Club Mackan and Mélopée Records, they expanded their repertoire in this year with a Hybrid DJ set with the use of a vocoder, vocals and drum pad.

For their new Edit they have chosen a typical Y2K Hit: B-Boys & Fly Girls" was a track from the debut studio album "In Stereo" by the Finnish hip-hop group Bomfunk MC's. Originally launched in 1999, it swiftly gained popularity in their homeland, Finland. Capitalizing on the global triumph of "Freestyler" the following year, the single was re-released as the "Y2K Mix," securing yet another success for the group by achieving top-20 chart positions in numerous mainland European countries and Australia. Bizzarro Universe infused an innovative vibe into the track, turning it into a trance-infused dancefloor anthem with Italo synths, highlighted by a captivating Hip-Hop break.

When he started partying his first club encounters were in an only goth, 90s and post punk music clubs. This edit encapsulates his desire to make this timeless song into a party banger, with ebm influenced basses and a more dark and obscure approach. We are so happy to have Karassimeon's 2024 edit of Taylor Dayne's iconic track as our first edit/remix release on the label!

Taylor Dayne, known for having one of the most powerful and underrated voices of the late 80s, made a huge impact on the music scene in that time. Now, Karassimeon breathes new life into her 1988 hit just the way he knows how to do it!

This remix retains the storytelling and lyrical depth of the original, turning up the vocal energy and rhythmic drive. Karassimeon made the perfect 80's summer anthem, this track is a perfect throwback to those teenage years!
