Parissior - Keep On Using Me (Original Mix)

Rising Argentinian label LOGIA Records reaches its season finale with “Velocity”, an essential 8-track EP by none other than Alex Aguayo (FREEDL038 as Mahkina) in collaboration with m i l l o, who jumped in with some post-punk overtones and Dark Disco influences to deliver “Broken”, the fourth and last but not least original of the release. Insightful remixes made with love by BT COP, Playa Del Carma, Corresponsal, and Celestino (SXDNS009) provide the icing on the cake.

If Logia is closing its 2021 activities, the same cannot be said of Alex. The Mexican producer has been having an extremely busy year so far: His originals and collaborations appeared on vital Indie Dance labels such as HEARec, Espacio Cielo, Paradiso, Boite Music, Emerald & Doreen, Odd Pleasure, Nein, Mélopée, NUFF, among others, and it is extremely possible something else will pop up before we can say “Happy 2022”. 

Premiered here, the title track, with its 119 BPM, is not as fast as its name suggests but is definitely one of the highlights of the EP. The bouncing bassline, energetic guitar-like synth layer, and melodic leads bring to life a must-have piece. It pairs perfectly with packed and filthy dance floors.

“Comanche EP” is a journey with some dark, groovy and psychedelic vibes that reveal once again the “ethno-disco” side of Alberto Melloni (@albertomelloni).

The native chants and traditional instruments rely on a landscape of electronic music and disco grooves that through canyons and blazing deserts, give life to two original club tracks: “Comanche”, clearly focused on peak time, and “Cortical”, a slow motion and 90s flavored trance-ish banger.

The release is completed with two inspired remixes from Italian master Amarcord (@amarcordmusic)(Ombra International, Dust & Blood) and Turkish Fat&Bald (Belly Dance Services, Latido), both showing their eclectic and cosmic vision of dance music.

Local Suicide - Jam Bounce Release w/ Theus Mago (Radio Edit)

Berlin based power duo Local Suicide (@localsuicide) are releasing their long-awaited debut album ‘Eros Anikate’ on their own label Iptamenos Discos on 13th May. The title translates to ‘love invincible’ and draws influence from Sophocles’ play, ‘Antigone’ - an ancient Greek play based around tragedy in the aftermath of a civil war.

‘Eros Anikate’ will showcase the duo's renowned ‘technodisco’ sound, blending retro with modern elements, alongside moody baselines and haunting vocals, whilst featuring an array of exciting collaborators and friends including Curses, Hard Ton, Skelesys, Lee Stevens, The Hidden Cameras, Sissi Rada, Theus Mago, Kalipo, and Greek new wave legend Lena Platonos.

‘Moustache’ , the third single taken from the album is a collaboration of Local Suicide with their longtime collaborator and friend, Buenos Aires native Skelesys (@skelesys). Sharing a love for the darker sounds you’d find in horror films and computer simulations, the 4/4 kick drum and woodwind like sounds manipulated into a frenzy bring us a rather interesting juxtaposition of playful horror.

“This one started off as a hymn to Dali, but ended up being a love letter to a dude with a ‘stache”. 

While the track crescendos into an ominous buildup of synths that continue to mesmerise you, the famous Vamparela vocals are the perfect surrealist playground that Dali himself would be proud of. Contrasting the playful with the serious, this track is the perfect oxymoron with post-punk and EBM madness, of which we’d expect nothing less from the two acts coming together.

‘Eros Anikate’ will be released on Vinyl, CD and digitally on Iptamenos Discos on 13th May 2022.
