Ahead of his upcoming outing at Limousine and The Gang on Friday June 14th, hosted by us, dive back into the California-raised Liquid Earth’s previous set at Les Enfants for Subwax showcase.

Filled to the brim with deep tracks, he effortlessly weaves acid wiggles, bumpy basslines and analog grooves.

☞ O.BEE 
Known for dancing in between different genres and styles, juggling the tradition and the avant-garde, O.BEE generates obscure yet familiar sonic landscapes, in a signature style that reflects his own musical identity; optimistic yet rebellious and filled by passion. Liberating the dance floor from the accustomed rules and stepping away from functional expectations, he instead cultivates musical trips for both the dancer and the listener. Juxtaposing the stimulating environments of both a intense rave and a concert hall. 

O.BEE's evocative and sophisticated approach to his sets is also reflected in his own music. He has been working hard in and out of the studio with his partner, Rona Budak, on their project “Enstantane”, which functions as both a record label and an multi-disciplinary artist collective. Enstantane 001 is to be released in the second half of 2018, along with an event series and the subscription based website enstantane.io. 

☞ Tomas Station 
Growing up between Bogotá and Chicago, Tomás experienced at an early age a clash of cultures and sounds that would open doors to a lifelong musical obsession.  

For the past few years Tomás has kept on the move, constantly searching for new sounds and experiences, rapidly building a reputation for himself as an exciting up-and-coming talent. His productions on labels such as Daily session NY, Descendants Of The Deep, Moody Recordings and Future Funktion have captivated the likes of Danny Krivit, Raresh, Magda and Douglas Sherman (The Loft), to name a few, while his electrifyingly unpredictable taste as a DJ and curator has earned him more than one spot at the decks alongside some of the most respected selectors and DJ’s around. 

While living in NY he worked as music buyer for Halcyon The Shop and as booker and resident for Kolekti and Zodiac Social, hosting parties with Soul In The Hole (Sadar Bahar & Lee Collins), Metro Area & Mark Grusane, amongst many others.  

He recently returned to Brooklyn after some years on the road to work on his most recent endeavours which include Jigit, a record label and collective alongside Turkish DJ and producer O.BEE and visual artist Asli Tunaman that released his debut EP under the Irie Nation moniker and to consolidate his long time friendship with the ReSolute party and agency where he will be joining the roster and acting as one of the resident DJ’s.

☞ Between young talents and renowned artists, Yoyaku's aim is to promote the best of electronic music, all around the world, by supporting artists in their progression, as a label, a record store, and a brand. Long-standing and more recent collaborations come together to form a close-knit community, allowing the artists in the roster to meet and sometimes share the decks for exciting events.

This week on the podcast, a mix from friend of the festival and celebrated Cartulis resident Junki Inoue. Born in Tokyo but living in London since 2012, Junki's been an avid record collector from an early-age. Few have bags as deep, something shown by this mix, which happens to be an hour section of his set from Dimensions 2022. It's testament to the timeless sound he's cultivated that you'd never tell.

Berlin based, Norwegian export Alexander Skancke is in the process of rising to the top of a very large pile, and with his relatively short time in the game he impresses more and more with each passing week. From his party starting sets that cut a tongue-in-cheek line through minimal, house, and techno, he treads the boards between injecting fun back into DJ sets while offering up seriously good music. His label Quirk is a prime example of this ethos, having already reached the eleventh edition of his vinyl imprint he melds the party starting bangers with a highly informed ear that transfers so easily to the dancefloor it is clear why he is becoming such a well known face in Berlin and much further afield.

It is this notoriety that has served him very well and it is just one of these impressive club stop offs where we find his recording for our InSession series. Taking place at one of Berlin’s true holy grail venues Tresor, the extract from the set starts strong and continues to rise throughout this near 90 minute recording. True to form, his wide musical tastes, no doubt nurtured through his work at Bikini Wax, is laid bare from start to finish. Pitch black acid house, minimal classics, and garage flecked house are never too far from the uplifting house sound that peppers his creations. Alexander Skancke is most definitely a name to watch as his star continues to climb.
