Alessandro Serena aka Wurtz nasce a Genova, in Italia, nel 1990. La sua passione per la musica inizia molto presto, ed essa verrà decisamente influenzata da artisti come Richie Hawtin, Hobo, Gaiser, Adam Beyer e la maggior parte di quei artisti che fanno parte della scena techno - minimal degli ultimi 20 anni. Le prime esperienze in consolle non tardano ad arrivare ed all’età di 18 anni, inizia la carriera da dj di Wurtz nei locali della Riviera Ligure. Si laurea a Milano all’istituto SAE (Sound Audio Engineering) e successivamente inizia a produrre musica propria. Non tardano ad arrivare feedbacks importanti e il supporto di artisti molto noti come Richie Hawtin, Nicole Moudaber, Dubfire, Fabio Florido, Stacey Pullen e Paco Osuna. Di notevole importanza per la crescita artistica di questo ragazzo, sicuramente è stato il grande supporto avuto per il suo remix “The Bullet”, rilasciato sulla label tedesca Bequem Digital, da parte di Richie Hawtin, che lo suonerà per oltre 8 mesi, entrando anche nella Top 10 delle tracce più suonate da lui stesso in giro per tutto il mondo.
Trascorre un anno in Sudamerica, per poi tornare in Europa, più precisamente a Ibiza, dove passa le stagioni estive lavorando e collaborando con realtà importanti come Afterlife / Tale Of Us.
La musica di Wurtz continua ad essere supportata nel corso del tempo, come nuovamente da Richie Hawtin, il quale suona uno dei suoi ultimi lavori (Blackout) al Time Warp 2015.

Opposite Ways is an Italian-based duo from Milan comprised of Gabriele Bianchi and Gabriele Pavanati. To broaden their knowledge of electronic music, each member attended the Nut Academy in Naples where they found their sonorous imprint in melodic house.
A year later they landed their first EP on Three Hands Records, followed by another on Konfluenz Audio. Later they returned to Three Hands Records with their 'Nothing Is Lost' EP which includes a powerful remix by Modal, then their track 'Arrival' on Awen Records. Their first collaboration with the Mexican duo MIHØLNIR, led them to signing with Us & Them Records, which gained massive support from great artists such as Blancah, Amare, and Paul Anthonee. Following that, they also worked with OBENMUSIK and AddictedMusic and in 2019, they received support from the likes of Tale Of Us, Undercatt, Fideles, Fur Coat, Øostil and Soel, thanks in part to their 'Apparat-Brandenburg' edit and releases on Prisma Techno, WOOD and Venom Recordings.

What do you do to get into a creative state?
"The best way to get into a creative state for me is doing something outside alone. It may be an extra job, walking around the city, travel by public transport or something else."

How do you stay focussed in a world of constant distraction?
"Oh, it's my big problem. It's always a good idea to turn gadgets off."

Do you have a morning routine?
"Yes I do, like most people."

What, for you, is the purpose of art? 
"For me, the purpose of art is creating connections between different people."

What would your 16 year old you think about what you’re doing today? 
"Why does this guy who graduated from engineering university has to be a music producer haha"

What makes you laugh? 
"People."

In which ways could the scene improve in the future?
"In my opinion, creating different types of genres and unique styles of music is the way of scene improvement."

Who will considerably give direction to the scene soon?
"COVID-19"

Favourite release at the moment & of all times? 
"At the moment: Music by Christian Löffler. All the times: I don't know i have a big collection of music in different styles and genres, it is difficult to choose."

Most profound insight you had since you started this career?
"It's not a simple way."
