Mimosa has made his mark on the west coast sound and in the past two years has become one of the top west coast exports. This young producers energy while performing is magnetic; the word has spread fast and Mimosa has recently shared the stage with the likes Benga, Skream, Rusko, Datsik, Glitch Mob, ill.gates, Bassnectar and Flying Lotus, playing shows across the US and festivals like Symbiosis Gathering, Burning Man and Decibel Festival. 

  Fans know Mimosa as someone who brings a good-time energy that is as fierce as it is friendly, taking them on journeys through urban chaos and ecstasy. 
  Mimosa production expertise have been in high demand and collaborations with Marines Parades Panty Raid have been featured on Mary Anne Hobbs BBC radio show.  His track Lights In The Night composed with Sleepyhead as Sexytime was also featured on the Symbiosis Gathering 2009 Compilation along with artists Eskmo, Beats Antique and An-ten-nae amongst others and his past two releases Flux For Life & Hostilis have shown an ability to move effortlessly between Dubstep, Glitch Hop and Experimental Hip Hop.

For this episode, I'm very happy to introduce you to a BC duo: Naturalist. I first came across them from their excellent mix series and they've quickly become some of my favourite DJs in the BC interior. Their mix is a beautiful mix of melodies and worldly influences. 

"We were really excited about the opportunity to do this mix because it allowed us to dive into a deeper sound than we are used to. The idea was to bring to life the joys of being in nature. We tried to dive down a new path, while still incorporating our natural sounds. "

Naturalist Bio
Naturalist is made up of two music lovin' brothers, Sam Moffat and Caleb Brown from Fernie BC.

Don't let their last names confuse you, these brothers are known for bringing good vibes and their fun and energetic stage presence will make you want to join the fun just as much as their music does. They each bringing a unique style to the turntables and their live sets are made up of various styles of feel good house and disco bangers that come together to create a sound they call ‘Space Disco.’

2019 has been their breakthrough year and after winning the Kootenay Music Awards ‘Artist Of The Year’ they shared their sound to the largest crowd they have ever played for at The Living Room Stage at Shambhala.

The future looks bright for these boys, and they are ready to run with it.

Mulatu Astake is a Ethiopian musisican who is hailed as one of the founders of the ethno-jazz movement for his work combining Jazz, Latin, and traditional Ethiopian music.  The original version has an incredible sultry vibe to it that I couldn't get out of my head so I created a remix to incorporate into my sets.
