The latest release from Clubsonica Records welcomes Claudio Cornejo back to the label for a new EP. The Argentinean artist has been one of his country's brightest progressive music talents. Either operating in solo capacity or as one half of Analog Jungs, the Cordoba resident has long been a favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Having first appeared on Clubsonica as part of Analog Jungs in March of last year, Claudio now returns to the label for his first solo offering 'Tuareg | Musai', alongside remixes from Andrea Cassino and Jonnas B.

Beginning with the pulsating hypno grooves of 'Tuareg', Claudio marries fluid rhythms with clustered melodies and radiant atmospheres. Evolving percussive arrangements and charming effects add nicely to its mediative pulse, before shifting energy into a captivating break. Understated in nature, the centrepiece delights with shimmering arrays and gentle percussive splashes, perfectly complementing emerging swells as the groove drops for a charged finale. The companion piece 'Musai' proves to be a perfect complement with its thrilling groove and emotive lines. Luminous fragments and devilish stabs dance amidst a maze of driving percussion, while impassioned chord changes elevate mood as the main break approaches. Tense and meditative in equal measure, the interlude saturates your senses with an evolving arp taking centrestage, perfectly anchored by warm bass swells, before reaching a gentle crescendo and driving final movement.

Making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Tuareg' is Andrea Cassino. Beginning with his highly regarded Cassino and Laben project and eventually shifting to his solo work in 2009, Andrea lays claim to an impressive discography highlighted by releases on Sudbeat Music (as Nocturna w/ Danny Lloyd), Balkan Connection, meanwhile, Proton Music and Soundteller Records. The world's top tastemakers have also noted the Italian's production prowess with John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J all chiming in with support. Now presenting his first project of 2021, Andrea debuts on Clubsonica with a smooth rendition of 'Tuareg'. Engaging from the outset, momentous kicks and rhythmic pulses converge for a fluid foundation, while hypnotic percussion and swirling sonics bring texture to the groove. Building an emotive narrative across the first act, nostalgic melodies and hazy harmonics unite for impassioned moments. Sitting at the heart of the journey, the centrepiece delights with its timeless appeal, where billowing bass swells rise amidst a cloud of colourful effects, as the beats drop for a haunting finale.

Returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'Musai' is Jonnas B. A staple of Colombia's progressive underground for the better part of a decade, the Medellin resident has earned play and support from the world's biggest DJs, most notably Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. A familiar face to Clubsonica fans having provided five remixes for the label since making his debut in 2015, Jonnas now returns to the Colombian imprint with a powerful interpretation of 'Musai'. Taking a cue from the original Jonnas crafts a shapely groove and rolling rhythmic core. Gaining momentum across the first act, the piece flows through emotive chord changes and whimsical arps, before shifting energy into a haunting break. Otherworldly in nature, its hypnotic state of mind melts down into a wave of mallet-like cascades and cinematic swells, percolating with each successive loop, before a timely drop reveals the pulsating groove for a magical dance floor moment. An inspired remix from Jonnas which rounds out a stunning return to Clubsonica for Claudio Cornejo, an artist who continues to be one of Argentina's finest progressive music talents.

Clubsonica continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Dabeat back to the label for a new EP. Sitting as one of Colombia's premiere progressive house talents, David Barragan aka Dabeat has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging in 2008 with a release courtesy of Beatfreak Recordings. Now laying claim to an impressive discography, the Santiago de Cali resident has showcased his music via Anjunadeep, Mango Alley, Plattenbank, Proton, Replug and Sudbeat. Also a primary contributor to Clubsonica, Dabeat has recorded six remixes for the Colombian imprint across a five-year stretch, beginning with his label debut in 2018. Now, following a well-received debut for Global Underground to begin the year, Dabeat returns to Clubsonica for his first artist EP entitled ‘Vesta | Evolving', alongside remixes from Rauschhaus and Sean & Dee. 

Selection one finds Dabeat paired with Kamilo Sanclemente. Together the duo have been responsible for some of the genre's most memorable tracks. The duo continue their creative partnership for the label in fine fashion with ‘Vesta'. Here, Dabeat and Kamilo masterfully synthesize their talents while breaking down boundaries to serve up a melting pot of inspired progressive house. Its pneumatic energy turns over quickly, flowing through a maze of mutated electronics and fiery rhythmic fractures, before reaching a hyperspeed collision of sonics for the ultimate high-octane drop and grooved out finale.

Also paired previously on multiple occasions to great effect are Dabeat and Juan Pablo Torrez. Together the Colombian duo have amalgamated their talents for remixes, none more impactful than their Hernan Cattaneo supported remix of Antrim's ‘La Fin Du Monde' to begin 2024. Now paired once again for Juan's burgeoning Clubsonica imprint, the duo deliver their first and much anticipated Original production entitled ‘Evolving'. The fellow countrymen drive each other forward, beyond their individual comfort zones for a mature club-effective record; one where thunderous beats, flowing rhythms and quirky melodies prelude a rousing finale.

The lone interpretation of 'Vesta' is provided by Rauschhau. The German producer has been a highly regarded figure of the melodic house underground since first emerging in 2017 with a contribution to Steyoyoke's ‘Ethereal Techno' series. The next half decade saw Rauschhaus craft a consistent stream of superlative releases via Beatfreak, Eleatics, Einmusika and Stil Vor Talent. Rauschhaus makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with a poignant rendition of ‘Vesta'. With a light and airy approach, Rauschhaus remodels the track into a smooth uplifting slice of melodic house. Bound by a first act of key changing basslines, hypnotic rhythms and finely manicured percussion, its soaring melodies marry beautifully across an emotive break - one where the German artist engineers a glowing crescendo for all those morning dancefloors out there. 

The release concludes with Sean & Dee with the lone interpretation of ‘Evolving'. Steadfast in their approach moving forward, the duo would build an impressive resume highlighted by releases via Beatfreak, FSOE, Siona, UV and Vandit Alternative, the latter of which would see them collaborate with Trance icon Paul Van Dyk. Now, Sean & Dee return to Clubsonica with a cosmic take on ‘Evolving'. Built around a deep thumping framework, the Italian duo focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of tranquil arps, striking stabs and cutting edge effects. Carrying a swaying cadence into the main break, the duo build emotion as anthemic melodies percolate against a backdrop of fuzzy arps, eventually giving way to a flurry of claps for an exhilarating finale to round out the release perfectly.

Clubsonica Records opens the month of March by unveiling the fifth edition of their Sampler Series. Following its debut in 2021, Clubsonica's Various Artists Sampler Series is now a regular and much anticipated offering in the label's catalog, fitting nicely alongside the MMW and ADE showcases which operate under a similar ethos. The trending series has been a platform not only for a wide assortment of upcoming talent, but continues to add some of progressive music's most notable names with each successive edition. Genre veterans Golan Zocher, Greenage, Kamilo Sanclemente, Ric Niels, Ruben Karapetyan, amongst others, have all graced Clubsonica's much sought after Sampler Series, sitting alongside a carefully curated blend of talented up and comers. Now embarking on their fifth edition, Clubsonica boss Juan Pablo Torrez has compiled the series' most comprehensive volume to date.

The first selection is Erich Von Kollar. Much like many progressive house producers, the Debrecen resident has recently revitalized his career with a string of organic-focused productions via Amulanga and Nordic Voyage. With a well-received release via Ruben Karapetyan's RKP imprint to begin the year, Erich now makes his Clubsonica debut with the smooth hypnotic sounds of ‘Vertical Maze'. 

Selection two finds NAHS alongside Martin Fredes. On the backing of support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Argentinean duo have become household names in the global progressive house scene over the last half decade. With a sound that incorporates a perfect balance of melody, groove and rhythm, NAHS and Martin have racked up impressive resumes in the process, with standout releases via Mango Alley, Plattenbank, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden sitting prominently on their respective discographies. 

The collection's third offering is Nic Rinaldi. Hailing from Colombia, Nic Rinaldi first emerged in 2021 with a release via Madloch's Future Avenue. The next two calendar years would see Nic continue to develop his sound, adding projects with 3rd Avenue and MNL to his discography. Also well regarded as a DJ, Nic has been a fixture of his country's nightlife since 2017, sharing the booth with international talents such as Kevin Di Serna, Oliver Koletzki, Quivver and local heroes such as Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez. Now continuing to trend on an upwards trajectory, Nic adds Clubsonica to his resume with the rejuvenating energies and trance-inspired melodies of ‘Night Rider'. 

Next up and is Sensy with ‘Masquerade'. The Ibiza resident's impeccable selections and ability to seamlessly program Organic, Progressive, and Melodic House & Techno into his storytelling sets, is what has ultimately set him apart from other local DJs. Renowned venues such as Carpe Diem, City Hall, Pacha, La Terrazza, amongst others, have played host to Sensy's unique amalgamation of sound. As a producer, Sesys is at the beginning of his journey, with a 2023 release on Amber Long's Modern Architect sitting as his lone debut offering. Continuing to work on his production craft, Sensy now opens his 2024 schedule with his Clubsonica debut ‘Masquerade', a track which incorporates the nostalgic sounds of old school progressive house with a timeless vibe throughout. 

The final selection welcomes TAYLAN with ‘Sonoma'. Immediately recognized for his astral sound, TAYLAN would go on a creative swell across the next two calendar years, landing key projects via Beatfreak, Manual Music, Steyoyoke and more, making him a rising talent to watch going forward. Increasingly prolific in the years to follow, TAYLAN's sound caught the attention of long standing imprints such as Movement Recordings and Univack, which further established his elusive sound.

Born in Colombia but now calling Israel home, Golan Zocher has firmly etched his place in progressive house lore. Following a 2016 debut, the Tel Aviv resident quickly found his place amongst the genre's elite, earning play and support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Guy Mantzur. Releases via Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, Plattenbank and Proton highlight what has been an eight-year creative swell for this elusive talent. Clubsonica has also been a regular landing spot for Golan, with four originals and two remixes recorded since making his label debut in 2017. Meanwhile, Colombian artist and Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez has also compiled an impressive resume since first emerging in 2007. Mango Alley, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden, UV and more have served as landing spots for his progressive creations, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been steadfast supporters along the way. Also highly regarded as a DJ, Juan remains one of Colombia's premiere talents, sharing the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Matador, and more. Although both Golan and Juan have built a good portion of their discographies on successful collaborations, the duo have yet to work together. It seems only appropriate that Clubsonica be the home for the duo's first ever joint production entitled ‘Cosmic Resonance', alongside a remix from Mike Griego. 

Golan and Juan explore emotive progressive house sensibilities on their first joint production 'Cosmic Resonance'. Sleek and energetic throughout, it's a framework of punchy kick drums and undulating basslines which lay the foundation for rolling percussion and emerging atmospheres to unite, in turn creating a strong sense of flow. Hypnotizing arps and tension-inducing overlays take centrestage across the first act, with haunting atmospheres fully initializing the main break. Cosmic and emotive in equal measure, the interlude further solidifies the duo's dancefloor vision, melting down to a quiet calm where ghostly vocals and cinematic swells cleverly-coax, before the groove re-engages for a poignant finale of heartfelt chord changes and a haze of processed vocals.

The release concludes with Mike Griego. The Argentinean DJ and producer has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. With a career that now approaches fifteen years and one hundred discography credits, Mike would have to be considered one of progressive music's elite artists, earning the praise of genre trendsetters Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge and Nick Warren, among others. A meticulous discography reflects his choosy nature; with Replug, Sudbeat and Tale & Tone serving as the primary landing spots for his musical output. 2023 proved to be an impactful year for Mike, furthering his successes with the launch of his 'A Line In The Sand' imprint, a label which now not only serves as his primary home, but also offered up two of progressive music's most memorable releases of the year in 'Antidote' and 'Perfume'. Now Mike makes an impressive debut on Clubsonica with a stellar rendition of ‘Cosmic Resonance'. Opting for a dubbier, more groove-centric approach, Mike aims squarely at a deeper dancefloor, taking the track into cruising territory. Complete with tight kick drums and chunky basslines, it's a storyboard of intricate percussive layers, orbiting effects and gentle atmospheric progressions which make for an alluring hypnotism leading into the break. Here, Mike leans towards the emotional sensibility of the original, reworking the primary theme in elusive fashion, in turn creating an air of anticipation, before carefully building tension towards a finale that is equal parts emotive, mature and club-effective.

PREMIERE: Juan Pablo Torrez & Golan Zocher - Cosmic Resonance (Original Mix) [Clubsonica Records]

Clubsonica Records continues a strong spring season by welcoming Airbas to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Italy, Roberto Sant began his musical journey playing piano as a child, before discovering electronic music in the early 90's, and shortly thereafter developing his skills as a DJ and producer. On the strength of recent releases via Freegrant Music and Hoomidaas, the Italian artist has become one of his country's most intriguing electronic music exports. With 2024 beginning with his latest Freegrant Music project, Airbas now continues on an upwards trajectory with his Clubsonica debut ‘We Are | Get Over You'. 

Beginning with ‘We Are', he utilizes the vocal talents of Eva Sizar to craft a soulful journey that should leave long-lasting memories. Airbas' warm key changing grooves and timeless tonal themes set the perfect foundation for Eva's memorable hooks to work their magic. She injects the piece with authentic soul and emotion, as Airbas' effortless sounding grooves and subtle musicality provide the perfect dance floor vehicle to deliver the tracks transcendent message. Airbas collaborates with Stephen Thomas Sims for the EP's second selection ‘Get Over You'. Following an intro of plush beats and rippling grooves comes a wave of warm overlays and delicate effects. Effortlessly rising, waves of percussion and rhythmic pulses set the stage for Stephen's sublime vocal chops to deliver inspired moments. Soulful and impassioned, the London resident's mystical phrasing highlights the piece, drifting across an underbelly of muted keys and rolling drums during the break, before a warm rush ushers in a glowing finale.

Returning to the label is Greenage. With well over a decade's worth of production credits, laying claim to a resume that includes releases for Mango Alley, Songuara, and Tale & Tone, while earning praise from Lee Burridge, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Now, finding his way back to the label, Greenage delivers a sultry remix of ‘We Are. Opting for a deeper, dubbier and more refined take on the track, he conveys the mood from the original beautifully, for a less vocally dominant, yet equally emotive and at times cosmic version that's perfect for the more astute dancefloors out there.

The final interpretation of ‘We Are' is provided by Lisandro. As a notable figure in music scoring for Netflix, he has also found a place in the world of organic house, a genre where his elusive vision has flourished., Lisandro's immaculate sound has found a place on Songuara, The Soundgarden and his own Flug Lab imprint. Now, he adds Clubsonica to his resume with a glowing take on ‘We Are'. Built beautifully across a whimsical first act, it's a gorgeous coax of glistening electronics and poignant chord changes which set the course for a memorable musical journey. A heartfelt break proves to be one of the most impactful parts of the creation, as a tasteful amalgamation of soaring vocals, muted keys and wispy effects provide moments of hope and reflection, before smoothly segueing into a finale that sounds tailor made for a morning or daytime dancefloor. 

The release concludes with Magitman. The Israeli artist has been a fixture of the electronic underground for well over a decade, laying claim to a portfolio that includes releases via DAYS like NIGHTS, Proton Music and Selador. Now, he makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with a groovy take on ‘Get Over You'. Drawing on the sensibilities of the original, the Israeli artist reworks the foundation with punchier kicks and tighter grooves. Resonating perfectly against a wall of effervescent arps are enlightening vocal phrases, striking at opportune moments, while perfectly married with sweeping effects and rejuvenating melodies, in turn creating a contrast of colour and musicality which pushes onwards to an uplifting finale.
