Plaisirs Sonores Records, the vanguard of underground melodic music, proudly unveils the 'Don't Let This End EP' by Elliot Moriarty.

The exquisite release, featuring three original tracks and two remixes, captures the essence of Moriarty's sonic journey.

The EP kicks off with 'Don't Let This End,' a beautifully crafted track that blends organic house vibes with enchanting melodies, setting the stage for an immersive musical experience.

'Instant Times' follows, a masterpiece that resonates with organic warmth and melodic richness, epitomizing Moriarty's distinctive style.

'The Shores of Cala Codolar' concludes the original trio, adding layers of intricate soundscapes, creating a sonic tapestry that unfolds with each beat.

Complementing these originals are two remixes that add new dimensions to the EP.

Jiminy Hop's remix of 'The Shores of Cala Codolar' introduces a progressive touch, while the 'Don't Let This End' remix by Soul Of Zoo injects a groovy deep house flavor.

Elliot Moriarty - The Shores Of Cala Codolar (Original Mix)

roku opens the new year with a fresh collaboration from label boss Da Luka and rising talent Electric Dada. Hailing from Albania, Da Luka emerged from his country’s electronic music landscape just over a decade ago. Whether operating in solo capacity or alongside occasional production partner Jorgio Kioris, Da Luka’s creative vision would summon the praise of progressive music tastemakers Cid Inc, Guy J, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and more, in turn leading to releases via Droid9, Juicebox Music, Movement Recordings and WARPP. 

Da Luka and Electric Dada continue to explore emotive progressive house sensibilities on their second joint production ‘Rubicon'. Sleek and energetic, it's a framework of warm kick drums and undulating bass tones which lay the foundation for rolling percussion and emerging atmospheres to create a strong sense of cruising. Panoramic arps and orbiting effects take centrestage across the first act, with a series of poignant chord changes fully initializing the main break. Cosmic and tense in equal measure, the interlude further solidifies the duo’s dancefloor vision, melting down to an icy calm, before the groove re-engages for a properly epic finale.

Making his label debut with the first interpretation of ‘Rubicon’ is Subandrio. As one of his country's most highly regarded progressive music talents, the Sri Lankan artist has long been a favourite of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Releases on Balance, Mango Alley, Replug, Sudbeat and WARPP sit prominently on his discography, as he continues to lie amongst the progressive house elite. Also beloved as a DJ, Subandrio has been recognized for his unique taste and impeccable programming across the course of his career, winning PALME and Pioneer's 'Middle East DJ Of the Year' on two separate occasions, while also travelling the world and performing at some of the trendiest venues and biggest festivals. Continuing to earn parise for his creative approach to remixing, Subandrio now begins 2024 on high note with a rousing interpretation of ‘Rubicon’. Opting for a dubbier, more groove-centric approach, Subandrio aims squarely at a peak-hour dancefloor, taking the track into tougher territory. Complete with punishing kick drums and chunky basslines, it's a storyboard of windswept effects and mesmerizing synth progressions which make for an exhilarating sonic experience leading into the break. Here, Subandrio leans towards the emotional sensibility of the original, showcasing the primary theme and building anticipation towards a thunderous conclusion.

Making her label debut with the second and final interpretation of 'Rubicon' is Forty Cats. With well over a decade's worth of DJ experience, Russian artist Christina Gavrilova aka Forty Cats has been a fixture of her country's nightlife, sharing the stage with Jody Wisternoff, Nick Warren, Yotto, Dave Seaman and more. Christina's production breakthrough would come shortly thereafter, with a debut on Lane 8's This Never Happened, a release which would make her an in demand remixer and rising progressive house phenom. Now, four years on and Forty Cats is regarded as one of her country's premiere electronic music artists, with standout discography credits for Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Sound Avenue,The Soundgarden, Sudbeat Music and WARPP. Coming off a prolific 2023, Forty Cats now adds roku to her resume with a haunting interpretation of ‘Rubicon’. Mysterious and thought-provoking throughout, it's a heady amalgamation of sound which makes for a club-effective yet uniquely atmospheric journey, elegantly flowing through trippy melodic clusters and wintry overlays, before a dreamy take on the lead and immersive break sparks a trippy finale. Forty Cats has also provided an intro version of her remix which broadens the scope of its usability and overall programming potential.

Premiere: Da Luka & Electric Dada - Rubicon (Forty Cats Extended Remix) [roku]

Clubsonica continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Dabeat back to the label for a new EP. Sitting as one of Colombia's premiere progressive house talents, David Barragan aka Dabeat has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging in 2008 with a release courtesy of Beatfreak Recordings. Now laying claim to an impressive discography, the Santiago de Cali resident has showcased his music via Anjunadeep, Mango Alley, Plattenbank, Proton, Replug and Sudbeat. Also a primary contributor to Clubsonica, Dabeat has recorded six remixes for the Colombian imprint across a five-year stretch, beginning with his label debut in 2018. Now, following a well-received debut for Global Underground to begin the year, Dabeat returns to Clubsonica for his first artist EP entitled ‘Vesta | Evolving', alongside remixes from Rauschhaus and Sean & Dee. 

Selection one finds Dabeat paired with Kamilo Sanclemente. Together the duo have been responsible for some of the genre's most memorable tracks. The duo continue their creative partnership for the label in fine fashion with ‘Vesta'. Here, Dabeat and Kamilo masterfully synthesize their talents while breaking down boundaries to serve up a melting pot of inspired progressive house. Its pneumatic energy turns over quickly, flowing through a maze of mutated electronics and fiery rhythmic fractures, before reaching a hyperspeed collision of sonics for the ultimate high-octane drop and grooved out finale.

Also paired previously on multiple occasions to great effect are Dabeat and Juan Pablo Torrez. Together the Colombian duo have amalgamated their talents for remixes, none more impactful than their Hernan Cattaneo supported remix of Antrim's ‘La Fin Du Monde' to begin 2024. Now paired once again for Juan's burgeoning Clubsonica imprint, the duo deliver their first and much anticipated Original production entitled ‘Evolving'. The fellow countrymen drive each other forward, beyond their individual comfort zones for a mature club-effective record; one where thunderous beats, flowing rhythms and quirky melodies prelude a rousing finale.

The lone interpretation of 'Vesta' is provided by Rauschhau. The German producer has been a highly regarded figure of the melodic house underground since first emerging in 2017 with a contribution to Steyoyoke's ‘Ethereal Techno' series. The next half decade saw Rauschhaus craft a consistent stream of superlative releases via Beatfreak, Eleatics, Einmusika and Stil Vor Talent. Rauschhaus makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with a poignant rendition of ‘Vesta'. With a light and airy approach, Rauschhaus remodels the track into a smooth uplifting slice of melodic house. Bound by a first act of key changing basslines, hypnotic rhythms and finely manicured percussion, its soaring melodies marry beautifully across an emotive break - one where the German artist engineers a glowing crescendo for all those morning dancefloors out there. 

The release concludes with Sean & Dee with the lone interpretation of ‘Evolving'. Steadfast in their approach moving forward, the duo would build an impressive resume highlighted by releases via Beatfreak, FSOE, Siona, UV and Vandit Alternative, the latter of which would see them collaborate with Trance icon Paul Van Dyk. Now, Sean & Dee return to Clubsonica with a cosmic take on ‘Evolving'. Built around a deep thumping framework, the Italian duo focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of tranquil arps, striking stabs and cutting edge effects. Carrying a swaying cadence into the main break, the duo build emotion as anthemic melodies percolate against a backdrop of fuzzy arps, eventually giving way to a flurry of claps for an exhilarating finale to round out the release perfectly.

The Boss is back in town, and how.

On a roll…in the ascendancy…top of the current form table…all epithets that could be applied to Dave and his stellar output in recent months, be it solo or in tandem with Quivver; on Selador, or with our friends at labels such as Sum Over Histories, Mobilee, Einmusika and Poker Flat.

And so to YoHo. It might sound like a new brand of pro-biotic yoghurt, or a vodka mixer… or even, as in our case, conjure up visions of piratical shenanigans. Be warned however, this particular sonic shanty, will provide all the treasure you’ll need for your own desert island disco.

The Original mix is textbook Dave, growing bigger and broodier with each newly introduced motif. The post-breakdown conclusion a squelching and menacing fusion of Bauhaus meets DJ Pierre proportions.

The Teutonic Dub then strips things back to bass-ics, an intoxicating brew that nods to the original Prog sound circa 1991 while sounding every bit as 2024 as a Tory MP abadoning ship.

Our triumphant triptych is completed by one of our favourite Seladorians, Mr James Harcourt. In a move too seldom seen, James does much more than just nod to the vibe of Dave’s originals, but equally his scattergun riffage and gorgeous keys take the tune to a euphoric elsewhere. So much so, it was the version Dave & Quivver chose for inclusion on their upcoming Balance Mix compilation album.
