Šios savaitės svečias SHULTZ savo muzikinę kelionę pradėjo dar vaikystėje, kurios metu mokėsi groti pianinu ir pūčiamaisiais instrumentais,  tačiau ankstyvoje paauglystėje muzikinis skonis pasikeitė – atlikėją sužavėjo programėlė „Fruity Loops“, kurios dėka susipažino su elektronine muzika. Bėgant laikui SHULTZ vis labiau gilinosi į techno muziką, kuri iškart patraukė savo tamsumu ir sunkumu. Nors tuo metu viskas buvo nauja ir nepažįstama, atlikėją smarkiai palaikė jo aplinkoje esantys žmonės bei artimiausi draugai, kurie paskatino daugiau domėtis ir tęsti kūrybinius procesus. Septynerius metus scenoje šmėžuojantis vaikinas išskiria vieną įsimintiausių grojimų – „Ravers Against Winter“ renginyje. Undergroundinė vieta – apleista gamykla, kurią papildė kūną veriantis šaltis, penki aukštai kupini elektroninės muzikos garsų bei įvairiausių veidų šokėjai – nepaliko abejingų. SHULTZ taip pat turėjo galimybę savo kūryba palepinti ne tik vietinius šokėjus, bet ir „Nomad Species“ bei „Minimal Sessions“ leiblų klausytojus.  Atlikėjo muzika sužavės deep hypnotic bei hard industrial techno gerbėjus.

This is the year 2022, not 1942, and sadly the Ukrainians are facing something no people should. When this war broke out well over a month ago, I (MÆDON), started reaching out to artist friends asking if they were interested in contributing to a benefit comp for the Ukrainian’s. Many amazing artists joined and the result is a 15 track album filled with a dynamic range of sounds.

With this album, a new series on Sonic Groove is born, “Sonic Groove & Friends”. A series that myself, MÆDON, will be curating. Adam and I also want to thank each of the artists for contributing stellar tracks for this cause.

This album will not be a permanent fixture, so please download it now and know that your money will be donated to a German charity to benefit Ukrainians in this awful time. We will give an update in due time sharing which foundation we donate the money too. Please note, we will not be donating to a charity/foundation that funds weapons of war.

SGF01 Stand Up In Defiance: A Benefit For Ukraine

After his debut on Crisis Of Man earlier this year, on the label VA – Frazi.er is back with his ‘Youth Culture’ EP, a massive 4-track offering with a gargantuan remix from Possession resident Hadone.

Opening with the title track ‘Youth Culture’ its breakneck drums pound as percussive sonics add a melodic, almost psytrance edge. Hadone’s remix takes a very different path, stripping the original back and adding a sidechained drone to the low end and working the vocal. Detroit-y pads midway add a sense of hopefulness.

‘Rave Scene Exploitation’s Industrial drums and scattergun hats create tension onto which Frazi.er expertly adds a huge melodic top line that comes from nowhere. ‘Transparency’ (NRG Tool Mix) does exactly what it says on the can. Acting very much as a bridging tool, it quickly gets up the speed without ever overcooking. Finally, ‘Take Me Away’ explodes from the speakers from the first enormous kick drum. Eerie saw-toothed synths take the lead as the track builds up before dropping back to thunderous drums before the main break. It’s a wild ride!

Josh Wink, the man behind Ovum Recordings, has been a treasured member of the worldwide house and techno community since the early 90s. 

Throughout his long-running career, the American DJ and producer has released four albums and released on labels such as R&amp;S and Strictly Rhythm, the latter providing a home for 1995's acid smasher 'Higher State Of Consciousness'.
