This song was written after a relationship breakdown with my Father, he thinks my mental health is embarrassing, made me homeless after being admitted into a psychiatric ward, denies it, but has now cut me off all together, writing this song gave me a lot of closure!

Why the title 'Wideopen' you ask?  It's a place name in North Tyneside close to the border with Northumberland - a township / village on the former A1 north of Newcastle Upon Tyne. The place name always intrigued me when I used to live up in Newcastle as a student in the 1980s. There is also another amusingly-named place called Pity Me in Country Durham to the south..... ironically it too also lies on the former A1 trunk road.

The track has nothing to do with the place however.....

Fuzzy distorted waves of sampled and treated guitar FX colliding with repeated fractured piano, and sporadic percussion motifs, played through broken speakers with most of the high end missing.....
