This is a joyful celebration of the beautiful state of Utah and its history with LDS pioneers leaving religious persecution behind and coming out to "the tops of the mountains."  It includes a salute to Brigham Young's declaration that  "This is the place!" upon their arrival at Salt Lake Valley, and a nod to the great LDS hymn that ends with "All Is Well!"

Some Explanation needed:
I teach TaiChi at the local senior center and one of my students came up to me and said "You write music. Hows about you write a piece where I'll know where I am in the set by the music?" SO, 3 years later, after attempting the task with orchestra then Chinese instruments, I finally settled on an ambient tune that ignores the ethnic source of the exercise.

What has emerged is a 20 minute piece with 109 sections (108 for the TaiChi set and 1 for the minute of "tree hugging" qigong at the end. Each TaChai movement has a motive, sometimes just a chord change, others a small period. When movements are tied together or sequenced, I was able to create some small primitive melodic structures. Stylistically if you cross 50's-60's Hovhannes with mid-Scriabin and then fold that into Wild's 'Liquid Mind' series, you probably have it.

The tune's 20 minute length and character also lends it to being a fairly decent meditation aid.

I used mainly Onmisphere 1 with some percussion from EWQL SO, EWQL voices of passion and Angelic Vocal Pads III from Precision Sound. I changed the internal reverb of all the instances of Omnisphere and used EWQL built-in reverb for their instruments. Slight compression from 5orcery and Gsonique FAT+ in mastering.

Some of my tracks may seem to soft compared to what is considered 'normal' these days (e.g. Threnodic Sketches). In those I have opted for dynamic range instead of overall loudness. To receive the best overall effect on those tracks, move to the loudest part of the wave form and reset your player volume so it is just below excruciating ;) Then the rest will fall into proper relation.

As of Jan 2022, where applicable, I am uploading 2 versions of my files, the usual highly processed Commercial Version, and a Dynamically enhanced Audiophile Version. Follow the directions on those tracks for best listening experience.
