Next up in the Audio Series we present: Minimal Violence

Minimal Violence is  Ash Luk (formerly Lida P.) They derive inspiration from early electronic and minimal synth works while integrating heavier UK rave and hardcore vibes.

From years of playing in punk bands, Luk’s penchant for the heavier and more aggressive side of dance music is most evident in its infiltration of the duo’s live set. The acid-tinged sets straddle the line between a relentless assault of the senses and jarring moments of disorienting chaos held together by oppressive kicks and scattered breakbeats.

Previously having released on labels such as Ninja Tune imprint Technicolour and Lobster Theremin, Minimal Violence has most recently launched into the second EP in their three-part series with Tresor Records.

Fast Forward Audio Series #59: Minimal Violence

Elise Massoni invite L.F.T - 07 Janvier 2022

Big excitement this week as we welcome Miley Serious. The Paris and New York-based artist hosts her long-standing show on Rinse France which has been a platform for up and coming artists. With her foundation set in the electronic and punk scenes, she runs the tape and zine imprint 99CT RECORDS which we see as a reflection of both worlds. She has been a resident of the infamous Killekill in Berlin for eons, which is where we first came into contact. Her sets effortlessly and successfully combine electro, post-punk, techno, gabber, Memphis, and pretty much any style that makes your head bob. This is evident in her contributions to Boiler Room Hard Dance series from last year as well as many others before and after it. Brace yourself for a take no prisoners selection from one of our favorite DJs out there.

Matteo D’Avena, aka Hallien, despite his young age has a considerable experience accumulated over the years, that allows him to be dynamic and capable in the all-round Electronics scene, dealing with Ambient and Techno projects (with particular attention in the Hard, Industrial and Deep Techno area) as well as having a deep knowledge of instruments for Live sets and productions, ranging from Drum-Machines to samplers and synthesizers. “In this mix, I tried to find a nice middle ground between my old style and what I’ve been into lately. I’ve been moving away from four-on-the-floor rhythms and moving more towards broken patterns, but I wanted to throw in some bass infused, atmospheric and dreamy techno to tie it all together. Overall, the idea behind this mix was to go for a more clubby sound - energetic, percussive and hypnotic, but with some unexpected turns.”
