Beequeen is the duo of Freek Kinkelaar and Frans de Waard, and they have just released an album, Winter, on A Colourful Storm. Both have celebrated musical histories in the Dutch DIY and avant-garde – the latter having been involved with countless solo and collaborative projects, including Kapotte Muziek, Korm Plastics and Staalplaat. The former might be better known as Brunnen, a longstanding musical alias whose album, Sometimes My Arms Bend Back (Vrystaete, 2015), urged me to get in touch. This mix features their own productions (including one cover song), gathered from over twenty years of collaborative recording.

Sound Synthesis is the alias of Keith Farrugia. He started releasing Electro music in 2009 on the @Paul-Blackford label @MilitantScience, and after a break, he is back behind the machines producing music at a staggering speed! He mostly uses VST plug-ins, however has acquired a Moog Grandmother and a Microbrute and is integrating those into his workflow.

Keith wanted to explore more in depth more sounds for dance-floor oriented tracks with added space sounds from the future! The act of an anonymous body getting lost in the dark, apart of being beautiful, has a transformative effect both by its community-building ability and also for provoking an annulment of the ego, turning it into one of the most interesting ways of communication ever created. Lisbon based artist Shcuro a.k.a. José Acid, is a rising DJ, producer alongside being the owner of two record labels @discosparaiso and @sombrarecords. Known for his masterful blends of hypnotic soundscapes and modern bass-driven productions, in this mix, he delivers heavy trips filled with dub echoes from the beginning until the end. Featuring new and old music from some of his favourite artists, that inspires him to keep the music flowing at home.
